I keep track of inventory in MS Excel. I've just been updating inventory in Sales Manager Pro. I need to export my inventory data from SMP to .xls, .csv, .txt, or even xml so I can update my excel inventory.
How can I do that?

Currently, the Sales Manager Pro software does not have any export options built into it.

Hello,
What we are saying is that the Sales Manager Pro software does not have any exporting tools built into it as the Sales Manager Business Edition does. If this is a vital part of your setup, I would suggest switching to the SMBE software instead.

Thanks. I have a question about SMBE then. Is there a new release out yet? I ask because the last time I checked it I could not import my listings from SMP to SMBE as SMBE was an older release than SMP and was not able to read SMP's XML data format.
Can the current SMBE import my information from SMPro?

Hello,
The most recent version of the Sales Manager BE software can in fact import your inventory from Pro.
It will be looking for the inv.dat file, which is located in the 'Data' folder of the Pro directory on your machine.

No, it is the same version, so you should have had the option when using the version you did a month ago.

That catagory is recognized by AMPro. Any ideas?

I don't find that (29552) as an existing catagory. Trying to locate it in my AMPro inventory.

The catagory (29552) is:
Music:Musical Instruments:Keyboard, Piano:Electronic Keyboards
and is a valid catagory on eBay:
Music:Musical Instruments:Keyboard, Piano:Electronic Keyboards (# 29552 )
AMBE is reading that as an eBay catagory as you can see from the error message:

Hello,
This is an odd error, as I was able to create a test item in Pro using only one item and in this category, and BE was able to import it without error.
Did you just go with all of the default settings when going through the prompts to import your items?
If this continues, perhaps you could email me a copy of your inv.dat file to test with :
[email protected]
Perhaps manually removing this item from your inventory in Pro, then attempting to continue importing the rest of the items?
Perhaps the error message and the actual error are not correctly matched up.

Yes, I'm using the default settings. There are multiple items with the same catagory, so I don't know that removing the first one would help.
Did you change the default catagories or do something differently from the default?

No, I just ran with all of the pre-set information within. I set that number as the primary category for that one test item, then just ran through the import without making any changes at all.

I closed and restarted SMBE, ran the import exactly the same way, and this time there were no errors!
*shrug*
Thanks for your help.
Any ETA for the release of a new version of SMBE? This one doesn't support Amazon Auctions.
