I was looking at setting up a simpler way of creating labels for my shipping. So, when I went to the checkout info provided by a customer and clicked on "print postage", I was taken to stamps.com.
I may have been premature in believing this would provide me heaven for only $16 a month. Well, after signing up for stamps.com, and spending an hour searching out how AW sends the address to the stamps.com website automatically, I gave up and called stamps.com to speak to someone. They tell me I would have to manually enter the information on stamps.com to do make labels and buy postage.
Stamps.com costs $16 a month, usps.com which provides the exact same service is absolutely free.
Am I wrong in this assumption that stamps.com doesn't provide any true benefit if I still have to manually enter (or cut and paste) an address?

I just read on AW's site, that this will "soon" be interfaced with stamps.com to do it automatically. Any idea when this would be? timeline??? I would consider holding onto stamps.com if this change is going to happen in a month or two.
wouldn't want to wait as long as it took Ebay to announce their crappy medical insurance coverage programs.

endicia.com works very well for transfering addresses over, and it is $10.00 per month.
All I do to do my Labels, I have the endicia software "Dazzle" running, and then I hit ctrl <c> to copy it into the buffer, endicia recognizes that this is an address, and automatically checks to see if it is a valid address corrects it if it can, and makes it a 9 digit zip code. I then select the postage method, and weight, and print an address/postage/DC label. It is very fast and seamless. You do get free DC with priority, and .13 with everything else.
Other things I like about endicia is that you can do media mail, and international with it. When I had stamps.com you could not do either of these.
Also another hint with either endicia or stamps.com go to your printer settings and have it keep the files you are printing. This way if you have a label misprint you can go into the printer and restart your print job. This save a lot of hassel, and possible expense if you have a misprint.
If you do sign up for endicia I would appreciate you using my account number which is 504925, and I will get a free month with them.

Hi
I have used stamps.com for over a year now. They have a less expensive plan but I use the $16 plan because of the amount of postage I print. They are not the same as usps.com unless usps.com is more reliable now. It use to crash so often it wasn't worth the time. I joined Indica before they started charging and didn't care for it. I had to unsubscribe 4 times, try to call and never found any customer service so I had to cancel my credit card to get them out of my hair.
Stamps.com provides great customer service and all the mail classes except international and that is on the way. They keep track of the postage printed and purchased and I can downloan history any time. You do get free delivery confirmation for Priority & 13 cents for all others if you use the packing slip choice. You can also print individual e-stamps or a whole sheet useing their netstamps tab.
I hope this helped a little.

I too was disappointed when I joined stamps.com.
I read the page that promises the coming soon more seamless integration and now after AW's lack of familiarity with the claim assume it is there to induce users to sign up through AW's affiliate link.
It's strange that AW would disclaim any knowlege of the service as AW is listed as a partner on the stamps.com site and links to stamp.com from a number of locations on the AW site.
