Please answer. I had no trouble with SM Pro for about 2 years. Then last week. I got an error message when I opened it. It said I had to reinstall. I downloaded the program from your site. Download went fine. I started the install process. It goes so far, then gives me a message saying "An error occurred during the move data process: - 132
Component:
File Group:
File:
All 3 above are blank.

Hi Baylobsters,
Did you change anything about your computer recently that might have caused this? Have you tried to do the install again since the error and if so, do you get the same message?
Thank you for your responses. I am going to escalate this to engineering -- can you please provide us with your OS, your browser and what version you are using, how much RAM you have on your computer?

Hi Sonya, My OS is Windows 98, Browser is Internet Explorer 6.0, and I have 128 RAM. Thank you for your help. I will be anxiously awaiting further help.
Please make sure that no other program is running in the background when installing SMPro. You might, for instance, restart your computer and then proceed with the SMPro installation immediately.

Hello C.J.,
An error "during the move data process" happens when another program in the background is blocking a file that SMPro needs to update.
So, even if you have done this when trying to install before, please go again through the process of checking that no other program is running during the SMPro installation.
The detailed steps that I would recommend are:
- download the SMPro kit to a location on your disk
- restart the computer
- hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete and check that no program or background task is running, except for Explorer and Systray
- run the installation from the kit saved to disk.

Hi rtogui,
I went through the steps you recommended. I don't have a "systray" listed when I do the Ctrl, Alt, Delete. I ended everything but "starter" & "Explorer". Still got the same error message. Also ended everything but "Explorer" & got the same error message. Both times I restarted first. I am at a loss. Is the "systray" supposed to be listed there. Could I be having a problem because it is not there?

Hello baylobsters,
Here are 2 more things that you might want to try:
- in case you downloaded the SMPro kit to the desktop, please move it to a regular folder (such as C:\) and try the installation from there;
- open the MS-DOS prompt and enter the command "SET"; please check the lines for TEMP and TMP and make sure that the folders they point to really exist on your hard disk.
