I was looking through my post sale auctions today and noticed that I had 1 unpaid auction that I filed for the NPBA 5 days ago. I decided to click on the auction and check out the persons feedback.

I was shocked to find that the most recent feedback left for them was from me for the auction they hadn't paid for. When I went back to check what happened I noticed that the record had been marked as shipped and feedback left, but had not been mark paid.

I keep a fairly close watch on what I am doing and I do not remember seeing that item show up on my shipped list. Either way if it hadn't been marked as paid it shouldn't have got on the "items to ship" list anyhow right?

Any idea what happened? The auction number is #2502908029

Upon closer inspection I have found well over a dozen of my auctions where step 3 and 4 (marked as paid, and invoice printed) are not checked and the shipping and feedback step are. Most of these I know were paid auctions, and I have the invoices that were printed.

I will need to go through my items and see which ones were actually paid and shipped, and which ones were not. I don't recall seeing them marked incorrectly when I left on Friday. Any ideas?

Hello,

The shipping and the feedback steps are steps that you have to manually check. Do you do your post sale activity through the Post Sale link, or do you go individually through each item's fulfillment checklist?

I only click the ship button from the "Items to ship" area of post sale. I do not do the step individually in each record.

After looking into it further I have found that the "Item shipped" and "Feedback" have been processed for every auction that I have active. I know that the only way I could have done that was if I had selected all the records in the main post sale area and clicked on the "Shipped" button without clicking the "Paid" button first. I am positive I didn't do that however. One of the steps I take when I click the "Shipped" button is to verify that everything on the list I have a printed invoice for. I would have noticed if it had been my entire list of active auctions.

Is it possible to check what time those records had the "Shipped" email sent? The last time I used AW on Friday I didn't notice anything unusual.

Hello,

Were steps 3 and 4 checked originally for these auctions?

No, that is the part that is so unusual. Even now if you look at listings step 3 and 4 (and sometimes 2) are not completed on my unpaid auctions, yet every record has steps 5 through 7 filled. I have verified with my customers that they did receive the "Item shipped" email, and I looked on ebay and they all have had positive feedback left.

Without step 3 being completed none of those records should have shown up on the "Items to Ship" section of post sale. That is why I don't think I manually marked them as shipped. Not only would I have noticed that the number if items didn't match the number of printed invoices I had, but I have so few items up right now that I am generally not shipping out more than 5 or 10 packages a day. I certainly would have noticed 30 items in the list.

I guess there isn't much that can be done about it now, I am not even sure what I am hoping can be done. I just thought it was unusual and worthy of calling attention to it since I am fairly certain it wasn't a mistake that I made. Then again if people knew they were making a mistake at the time they were making them, mistakes wouldn't exist anymore. LOL
