I had someone send me a PayPal payment with sales tax included. Now I have -$2.09 due on the invoice. How do I account for sales tax and make the invoice balance?
Was the sales tax applied through PayPal? You may need to just refund them -- unless you wanted to charge them tax -- please let us know if that was your intention or not.

It was my intention to add sales tax. The payment came in from Paypal. How do I account for sales tax and balance the invoice?

Hello,
I am still trying to figure out how to handle sales tax. I do not see a place if they go through checkout where sales tax can be entered. I have FL set to say include 6% tax. Am I missing something? I also would still like to know how to balance an invoice with sales tax intentionally applied when payment comes in from PayPal. How do I and where do I account for sales tax. A response would be very helpful.
Thank you,
Janice

Hi Janice,
You can set up your Sales Tax in Post Sale Management Options, in your My Account tab. If you put in what you want to charge for sales tax for each state in the text box there, when people check out of auctions they will see that they need to apply the tax if their state is on your list. I see that you have done that already.
If someone went to PayPal and paid for the item with tax and did not account for it in checkout on AW, the only way to correct it is to undo the 2nd step in PSM, and then edit yourself -- selecting the tax percentage -- and then mark it off as done. This should give you the correct balance for that item.
