Hi. I have 2 user IDs, and so I need a second copy of SMP downloaded, and I have been having trouble doing this. The instruction you wrote on this on 3/29 are not working for me.

1) I click on the Download now icon.
2) I click OK on Save To Disk question.
3) Then a "Save As" window opens with an "Ampro" icon.
4) I click on save, and I told this file already exists, do I want to replace?
5) What do I do, replace it???????
6) Then what do I do?????

Thank you.

Hello,

If you have two or more AuctionWatch accounts, the easiest way to keep your account information separate is to install an individual copy of SM Pro on your computer for each AuctionWatch account.

The first step is to download the install kit from our site (be sure to select the "save to disk" option.) The same install kit can be used to install all SM Pro copies.

The second step is to install the program into separate locations. The first copy is installed into "C:\Program Files\" folder by default. You will need to create a unique file folder for each additional copy that is to be installed. You may create these folders wherever you like on your hard drive, but be sure to name the files so that you will easily be able to find them later.

Run the installer for Sales Manager Pro, when the prompt comes up asking you where to install it, select and install to default ("C:\Program Files\". After this is done, run the installer again, and install it to the alternate location you have selected (C:\AuctionWatch\eBay_id is an example.)

At this point, you should have two AuctionWatch icons on the desktop, rename one of them so that you will be able to differentiate it from the other.

Now you should have 2 working copies of SM Pro, one for each of your IDs. Simply launch the copy you want via your labeled icons for the ID you want to work on listings for. Let us know if you have any further questions.

Hi. Your instructions are not at all understandable to me.

I have installed one version successfully.

I created a second directory to put the 2nd version in.

Please provide me with clear instructions on how to do this, or provide me with a telephone number to call and discuss with someone in person.

Hello,

Is that the step you are stuck on? You created the new location to install the software into, but haven't ran the installer to point the install to this new directory?

What happens when you attempt to do so, that you are unable to continue to the next step?

Is there an error message when you attempt to install to this other directory?

Fist, understand, that last week I downloaded SMP and now I want to download it again for another unser ID I have with AW and Ebay.

I start the download process, and when I get to the install wizard I get an error message "An error occurred during the move data process-132: component: file group: file:".

What I would like from you, are some specific instructions.

I need to know:
1) Where do I create the new directory.
2) Where do I go in Auction Watch to start downloading the 2nd SMP.
3) What selection options do I make to download.
4) For example, do I click on the "Download Now" icon????
5) And then, what do I select in response to the question "Would you like to download or save to computer???
6) And then, when the "Save As" box appears, with the "ampro" file in it, what folder dos I save this in?????
7) If I hit save, it says "do you want to replace this file, do I select Yes or No????
8) Or do I save into a different folder????

And so on, until it is installed properLy.

Can I copy the first SMP folder into another folder, so that I have two identical folders. And then in second folder, go to the Preference icon, and change my account????

Will that work?

Hello,

1. First, please make sure that the other SMPro installation is not running. Otherwise, you risk to get "error during the move data process-132" again.

2. If you do not already have the installation kit on your local disk, please download it again and choose to save the file to disk.

3. Use the downloaded ampro.exe file to start a new installation.

4. When the prompt comes up asking where to install it, enter the alternate location that you have created.

Indeed, copying all files to the new location is another possibility. You will then need to manually create an icon for this copy, or just start it using Windows Explorer.

Thanks,

-Radu

Hello Mike,

Indeed, this procedure should be OK.
