I am using your product for the first time. I was trying to put in a new listing in Sales Manager Pro. Everything appeared relatively easy, but when I went to save the listing it gave me an error message that I cannot figure out how to eliminate. Error message is "Country not set". I don't know where to set the country. I have checked off that I only ship to the United States. I have made sure that my country is in my basic region information. I cannot find any other places.
The second problem I had was that I wanted to know how to save a listing without having to set a time. I maybe working on a protype and I don't want to launch it yet. Do I have to do this online versus Sale Manager Pro?
Third, I went to the online site and created a new auction there. It gave me two errors that I could not fix. 1) I had checked off auto notify WBN and it said I had to set a valid shipping type. Everything appeared to be set properly. 2) The same problem occurred with the Vendio Checkout. It said I need a valid shipping option. Again everything appeared normal.
Your overall product seems easy to use, but I am starting off with these "bugs" that I cannot fix.
Is there any type of live chat for support or a phone number to call. I have several other questions that I would like to get answered.
1) If an item does not sell I want to relist, but change the reserve or other items before it is relisted. Can I do this. I can directly on Ebay. I saw the auto relist, but I think that keeps the information the same.
2) How do I cut and paste the image URL into your program. Does the image hosting give a thumbnail sketch. How does this differ from the image bar on the bottom of the screen.
3) Does you program support full HTML support in the description or just some limited codes?
Sorry for the lengthy message, but I would appreciate any help that I can get. I currently am using Andale, but it is not working properly with the HTML and some other quirks. I would switch to your program immediately if I can get my issues resolved.

Hello Ann,
A. (Country Not Set) - In Pro, click on the preferences button along the left hand side of the window. Next, visit the 'location' option and verify you have your country setup here.
B. When done listing, just his the 'Ok' button, and then this item will be saved in your current batch. To list this batch another day, go to 'File + Save Batch (as).'
C. Are you still running into an error with this item? I checked your account, and this item appeared to be saving without any error messages now.
We are not setup for live chat or phone support at this time.
1. You are correct in that if you use auto-relist, ir will do so with the same details. When you relist, you will do so via the closed section of the Sales Manager online. After you choose your item to relist, you will be presented with an edit button to make any needed changes first, before you launch/schedule your item. (you will qualify for relisting credit just as if relisting from eBay directly.)
2. If you have your images hosted elsewhere, where you will need to enter the full HTML/URL for this image into your item description section. Otherwise, download it to your computer, then use the image bar at the bottom of the page to add it to your listing/account.
3. You can use any HTML you want in the description, as long as the site you are listing to supports it. The only thing to keep in mind is when you use our HTML embedded templates, be sure to preview any listings where you added your code on top of it to be sure they play together nicely.

In regards to the location problem, I had already checked that. If you look at my preferences, you will see that it is set to United States. I have even tried changing it to another country to see if that would work.
I would be happy to try anything else. As far as the online issues go I see where my problem was. I had chosen a series of shipping options, but had not checked off the little box next to them. What are the two blanks boxes for below the drop down boxes?
Is there any plan to have calculated links to UPS or Fed Ex any time soon. That would really make the checkout process very efficient.
Is there a way to select the checkout box come in from the side by using the Sales Manager Pro or is that only available online.
Do you plan to add any new templates with more graphics like Andale or are you sticking with the more simple layouts you use.
If I hosted my images on your site would they be available to add into my HTML descriptions by selecting them from the bottom image bar or would I have to type the URL address manually into my code. I do not want to use your templates because I do most of my work in HTML.
How do I select the photo that I want displayed as the Gallery picture?
Thanks for the quick response.
Ann Rowlands

Hello Ann,
Not your settings online, but your settings in Pro as I mentioned above. Did you check that preferences button in your copy of Pro, then go to the location setting to verify your country was set correctly here?
If you make any changes to this, be sure to close out of the program and open it back up before you continue with your listings.
The two blank boxes are for your own custom shipping options, if you have ones you would like to offer that we do not have already available.
While we do hope to offer more calculated shipping options in the future, there are no announcements currently available as to when/if support for UPS/FedEx would become available.
The options for the checkout button are only adjustable from online, but it will still apply to your listings in Pro, so just make your changes for this feature online and your all set.
We are actually running a survey right now about templates, as we have plans to add many new templates.
If you host your images here, you can still use the URL/HTML and paste it into your item description, just as if you had them hosted elsewhere. There is however a specific code you need to use for your images hosted here. I will paste those directions below. They describe how to get the correct code, which you can then use to write your own code.
To select an image for the gallery, that image needs to be attached to your listing through our system. This is the one image you will need to attach through our tools, so you can add it to the gallery. Use the blank listing template, so the image appears way at the bottom. This will also make sure your listing has the camera icon beside it, indicating that you have an image attached to it.
Regards,
Christopher
To obtain the code which contains your image URL(s), follow these steps:
1. Click the Image Hosting tab.
2. Check the box next to the image(s) that you wish to select.
3. On the bottom of the page, click the "Attach" button.
4. Choose "Other Auction Site (generate HTML)", select New Auction, and click "Continue"
5. On the next page, copy and paste the entire block of HTML (which includes your image URL) into the description box of the auction listing form.
If you wish to use only the image URL, it/they will be embedded in the HTML code generated by our system. If you do not have the "click to enlarge" feature enabled, the image url will look like this:
If you have the "click to enlarge" feature enabled, you will need to alter the ".mids" URL to create the correct image URL. To do this, just remove the /.mids portion of the URL. Here is an example:
The "after" URL can be used in any auction and can be altered to point to any image in your list simply by changing the image filename portion - just be sure that the filename *exactly* matches the filename on our site (case-sensitive.)

I have made the change to the offline version of Sales Manager Pro in regards to the location. I checked the information in both places, online and offline. Should I reinstall the offline program and resync?
I appreciate all of your insight. It is refreshing to get prompt answers to your questions. I have not had this kind of response at Andale.

I am not in front of that computer right now. I will be there in about 1 hour. Will you be there to respond or does your support shut down at a certain time? I appreciate your assistance.
I have changed it several times yesterday and this morning and rebooted. It shows the United States there as the location. I will try it once more when I get home.

I was able to get the country to go away after I changed it back and forth two times.
I now uploaded the listing and tried to preview the file. The basic listing was intact, but I could not see what the file would look like on the top half of the normal ebay screen. It appears that the only preview is from the description down. Is this accurate?
The other major problem I had was that the HTML code that changes the background color did not work in the online preview, but it did work in the offline preview. The font also was changed from Times Roman to an Arial style. Why would it do that.
I don't know if you can view my listings, but the one in question is the "Clothes Test 2"
When I checked your listing, I did not see a specific font listed in your code. I did see references to font sizes, but that was it.
As for the background, I cannot say for sure why the offline preview works this way. The online preview is directly from an eBay source, so that is the one to trust.
To be honest, I would look at an eBay listing where the background color code did work properly, and View Source on the page to see what code it was that eBay was happy with using.
Note that if you see the background color extend down into the bidding area, you do not want to use it, as Netscape users will be unable to bid on those items. (it is a common problem seen at eBay.)

Hi annrow. Vendio/AW has far more to choose from for templates and layouts than andale, but they are not real obvious on the surface when first learning to create the listings. With rare exceptions, if you can conceive it and get the html written you can do it.
If you click on the "view all templates" option, buried in among all those nuts and bolts "standard" template choices in ugly colors that go on forever are 2 choices called "specialty templates" and "blank template". Great stuff there! Check out the Easter templates and several each for Christmas, Valentines day, Halloween, one off the custom colors and logo of your own storefront. one for Winter, Spring, etc. etc. Templates and layouts are definitely one of Vendio/aw's big strengths.
If you want to html design absolutely everything yourself, try the blank template with or without an embedded layout.
