Hi there,
I am losing lots of money because of the setout of folders in SM pro. I don't really care if a customer has checked out or not but this folder holds orders that are unpaid from getting to the "awaiting payments" folder where I can file NPBA. I think the "awaiting checkout" folder is not only useless but it's losing me money. At the moment I have to go into each order and check the box beside checkout, even though the order is not checked out, so that I can move the order into the "awaiting payments" folder. What is the purpose of this folder anyway? Does anyone use it?

Hi Kirsten,
The "Awaiting Checkout" folder is for those auctions that have had a WBN sent out, but a response has not been recorded. The only way to move items from that folder into the next one, besides having the winner fill it out, is to manually select step 2 for each item still remaining there.
Regards,
Sonya

Thanks Sonya,
I do understand the purpose of the "awaiting checkout" folder, I am questioning the real usefulness of it though.
Could the items that are unpaid, whether they are checked out or not, show up in the "awaiting payments" folder?? ie. the criteria for the "awaiting payments" folder be ALL orders that are unpaid, not just those that are unpaid and checked out. This way if a customer has neither checked out or paid, then I can still send NPBA and final fee credit valuations. This solution seems to me better and more logical than having to put a fake tick in the "checked out" box when in fact the customer has not checked out.
In general I'm finding "Vendio" is fine for managing sales when everything is working well but problems such as these are not so easy to deal with. It would help people like me if there were some forum where users were asked to contribute to the development of the program.
Kind regards, Kirsten

You can send NPBA and request Final Value fee credit without having the WBN response checked. I do it all the time. I *LIKE* having the "Awaiting Payments" section only including those auctions that I am actually waiting for payment.

Yeah I like it how it is now also. NPBA or FVFCR are not dependent on the items moving "out" of the Awaiting Checkout.
Of course... for feeBay the time limits MUST be reached before sending a NPBA or FVFCR. It wouldn't matter what folder the "non-payer's" auctions are in... just won't let you do it until the set amount of days have passed.
Let's NOT change this setup!
Oh... Do I use Awaiting Checkout? YOU BET! I can see in a heartbeat if I have a customer that hasn't filled it out and I can send a reminder from there.

So it seems the awaiting checkout is useful for everyone. Would it be possible then, to do the group "prepare NPBA" in the awaiting checkout folder as well as the awaiting payment folder? This would save heaps of time going in to each order and checking if they are due.

I must be missing something here.
Why would you want or need to do a "Non-Paying Bidder Alert" (NPBA) in the Awaiting Checkout area?
All items that have not been marked payed show up in Awaiting Payment - whether checkout has been completed or not.
I'm really trying to understand what the change would actually change - but I'm missing it somehow.
As is, no NPBA or FVFCR can be sent until the REQUIRED time period has elapsed... whether the transaction is in Awaiting Checkout, Awaiting Payment or whatever.
What am I missing?
Thanks,
Greg

ALL my unpaid auctions show up in "Awaiting Payment". The unanswered ones also show up in "Awaiting Checkout". Therefore, there is no reason you can't send the NPBA from "Awaiting Payment". It just says "TBD" in the "Payment Method" column.
I also use "Awaiting Checkout".

Thanks eveyone for answering, but I'm still having problems with this folder. I now realise that all the unpaid items appear here even if they are checked out or not, which is great. The problem I am still having is that the "OK to send" field does not always show up for items that should have NPBA sent for them. Why is this?

Hi Kirsten,
The "Okay To Send" the NPBA only shows up when it is okay to send - that is to say, the REQUIRED time has elapsed. For eBay that normally is around 7 to 10 days. I really can't remember for sure, because I just wait until the "Okay To Send" appears in my management screen. Then... there's another 10 day waiting period before filing the FVFCR (Final Value Fee Credit Request).
These time periods are set in stone by eBay and that is why they will not appear as "Okay To Send" until it is really okay.
Now, what I do in between is send Payment Reminders and WBNs or WBN Reminders - for each one that I send that receives no response it just validates the NPBA and FVFCR that much more.
Hope that helps!

Thanks Greg. Some orders are OK to send but they are not marked with the "OK to send". I noticed this because I had not sent NPBA for all the items, and now I check each one because I don't trust the "OK to send" notification to alert me. Checking each one seems to negate the purpose of the folder though. What criteria is used for the "OK to send" notice to appear?

OK to send NPBA isn't available until seven days after the end of auction. Okay to request FVFC isn't available until ten days after NPBA sent...regardless of whether NPBA was sent seven, ten, or even thirty days after close of auction.
Hope this helps.
