It looks like you can't upgrade the existing SMpro but have to download a new program. The new program wants to save to a vendio folder in the program folder. Can it replace the current AW? Can you just move the images from the AW folder and paste it into the new 5.0 vendio folder?

Hello baylor45,
If you are updating your existing Pro version, you should install the application into the AuctionWatch directory rather than the default Vendio directory. This will allow you to retain all of your batches, images, etc. without having to copy them to the new version.

Well I've held of on the upgrade for a moment - wanted to see the initial issues encountered.
But... If I choose to wait until the Auto-Update of SMPro, will it update my AuctionWatch folders or create the new Vendio folders?
And if I choose to manually update now and download the program to my AuctionWatch folder, will the AuctionWatch folder eventually be "phased-out" and not recognized?
Seems the best would be to just install into the default Vendio folder that it creates and transfer the data over. Will the eventually released Auto Update do that?
Thanks for the clarification and assistance!
(I'm off to back everything up - computers... trust but backup!)

The auto update will update the files in your AuctionWatch directory folders. It won't create new Vendio folders.
I'm not sure if the AuctionWatch folder is going to be phased out -- the older versions are still available for download, so it will probably be around for a while.
If you download the program now, you can manually update your information -- it will create a Vendio directory. When the auto update comes out (should be next week), if you haven't installed 5.0 and you want to do it from the update, it will update whatever is in the AW directory.

Sonya: Thanks! That's great to hear! I'll probably go ahead and do the download manually.
Baylor: Thanks too! It's great to hear no bugs so far. Hopefully it continues that way.. but we are talking about software - great software - but still software that has to work with a myriad of computer setups. <grin>.

Hi. Just to add my voice, I've downloaded 5.0 to my AuctionWatch folder, and everything is working well. Marshall

Thanks all... I'm downloading now and will install into my existing AuctionWatch folder also.
Just wondering if after installation - if I went and manually renamed the parent AuctionWatch folder to Vendio if that will cause any issues on synch, etc.

I am having trouble with the upgrade to 5.0. I downloaded it and saved it but when it goes to open it, it says that the "contents cannot be opened. The executable file you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Obtain another copy and try again". I have tried twice - what am I doing wrong????
If you rename the existing folder to Vendio, the program will indeed no longer work. Reinstalling it afterwards to the Vendio folder will fix this problem though.
Hi margie5651,
Please make sure that you download a full copy of the installation kit. Its size is 8.40MB.
When asked, please choose to save the installation kit to disk. If you are still having trouble, you might want to save it to a different folder (such as C:\), and to clear your browser cache.
Thanks,
-Radu

Thanks Radu! - Good to know those things before experiencing firsthand <grin>. Everything is working fine - I downloaded successfully and installed into the existing AuctionWatch folder - and left it alone after that.

margie5651: Not sure what version of Windows you are using, but you may want to consider doing both a Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter tasks on your system. I do a Disk Cleanup once a day (just to clean house of all unneeded temporary files, downloaded program files, recycle bin purge, cache purge et al) and a Defrag about once a month (to sort the file system). Makes a big difference in performance and installation. Good idea to shut down all unneeded programs before installing anything also.
