Hi
I loaded my first batch with the upgrade and it worked very well, no bugs so far.
However, I can't figure out how to add what I uploaded to my inventory on-line. I tried all of the "tools" etc. and none of them went there...

Please don't tell me I have to go to each auction individually to put it into my on-line inventory... Please don't tell me that!

Ok, I suspect that is what you will tell me... My next question is: Will this be fixed... or something?

Hello, Hello, anyone there?
I just investigated all of the choices I could think of to solve this and here is the only one I found...
Copy the auction after it has launched.
Go to Pending
Open each item and fill in the fields: Add this to my inventory & add (a number) at (a price)to my store.

I just know you all really didn't intend this (adding items to on-line inventory) to be so time consuming when it had been so easy before?

Thanks

Hello pgmeunier,

You can not currently add your auction batches to your online inventory. This has not changed from SMPro 4.2

However when you do launch items to your Store they then will be placed in your Online Inventory.

Hi Tara
When you use the new batch importer, your choices are auction or fixed price. There is nowhere to add to your store or your on-line inventory.
If you use, Inventory importer, you can import to your store... and you are telling me that it also imports to the on-line inventory.. right?
Then we must go into the on-line inventory to launch?
On the one hand, I can see a possible benefit to doing this but on the other hand, this means that what we were able to accomplish in one step before the upgrade now must be done in two steps. Right?

Now maybe at some unknown date in the future there is a reason for this but right now it is a duplication of effort requiring time spent handling the same item twice.

I am not being rude but I would really like to know why this is being done? I thought the goal was to simplify what was need to complete auctions not compound the steps that need to be taken?

I find this confusing and I need to understand so that when I present this in a classroom setting, I can offer logical answers when the class asks questions.

Thank you, I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Paula,

The batch importer is really intended for importing batches to SM Pro from Business Edition, which has no ability to list to your Store. This is why the Store file type is missing from this function.

If you are creating listings within Pro, and you want to populate your online inventory as you upload auction listings, the easiest way to accomplish this is:

1. Create an inventory item in SM Pro.
2. Drag two items to your batch from the inventory item, designate one as your eBay listing and the other as your Store item.

Note that there is no need to actually list the item in your Store - you can upload the item with qty. zero available in your Store and it will still go into your online inventory.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Diana

Hello
Thank you for the reply...
Your suggestion would indeed work but you are still handling each item twice.

So I took the time to play with the local inventory and batches. Here is what I found:
You can change the quantity on the screen where you choose where to place the item, i.e. store, ebay, etc. If you choose to launch into the store, the next screen shows you 2 quantity choices in the set price box. You can choose to enter an amount in Quantity available and Quantity in Store. When you upload, the item shows an amount in Quantity available and an amount in Quantity in store.

I would think that most of us would prefer this method. It eliminates duplication of effort AND (to me this is the most important) all I need to do after uploading is launch from the unfilled file and everything is kept track of within the inventory module.

I don't know what others do, but I put one item in the store and one available-even though I only really have one of the item so that if it doesn't sell it is in the store and I can launch an auction in a week or two or when that season arrives again and not have to edit each and every item any time I want to move it to or from the store/auction.

Well I'm glad I found the answer.

Thanks

With the last version I was able to list items in my store directly from the create listing page. That feature is gone with 5.0.

Also, there used to be an option somewhere instructing SMP to save copies of all batch items to my inventory. Can't do that now either.

Why have important functions like this been removed with this "improved" version? Please put them back.
