I need to open a second account with Vendio.

I want to use SAPro for both.

I have one copy on my computer now and it is working great.

You had previously told me I should download the second one to a separate file.

Could you give me specifics as to when I need to change information so I will have two separate programs running with two separate sets of information?

I download and then start install. When it has the default folder is that what I change? Just changing the name of the folder will that keep them separate? I tried this about a year ago but couldn't get it to work so had to delete both copies from my computer and just start over.

Hi Lindajean,

I will give you the directions again from the beginning on how to install more than one copy of Pro on your computer.

The first step is to download the install kit from our site (be sure to select the "save to disk" option.) The same install kit can be used to install all SM Pro copies.

The second step is to install the program into separate locations. The first copy is installed into " C: \Program Files\ " folder by default. You will need to create a unique file folder for each additional copy that is to be installed. You may create these folders wherever you like on your hard drive, but be sure to name the files so that you will easily be able to find them later.

Run the installer for Sales Manager Pro, when the prompt comes up asking you where to install it, select and install to default ( "C: \Program Files\" ). After this is done, run the installer again, and install it to the alternate location you have selected ( C: \Vendio\eBay_id is an example. )

At this point, you should have two AuctionWatch (or Vendio) icons on the desktop, so you should rename one of them so that you will be able to differentiate it from the other.

Now you should have 2 working copies of SM Pro, one for each of your IDs. Simply launch the copy you want via your labeled icons. Let us know if you have any further questions.

Regards,

Sonya

SONYA -

Well I followed you instructions, and the second download work fine, BUT NOW, the first application will not open, it comes up with a 'Run-time error 32811: Application- defined or object-defined error.

My first application (that now does not work) is my primary and has all my batches and images in it.

HELP !!!!!

Hello,

It will save all of your images and batches for you. Go ahead and reload the new version of the software to this location.

Just be sure that you have the new version installed to both locations, as it will not work correctly with one copy of the old and one copy of the new.

Thanks Christopher -

I had already resolved the situation, but it was not pretty the way I did it.

I figured I had to un-install the second download, to be able to work on my original program, but even that was a little scary since there was only 1 Sales manager icon in the Add/Remove programs list. So just to be on the safe side, I copied my batches, images and thumbnails to another folder; before I told W2K to remove the program. It did remove the second install (except for the desktop icon which I did manually). Then to 'fix' the primary install, I reloaded the exe file over the top of it; and .... now it 'worked'!

Still wanting two copies of SMPro, I tried again, this time loading the second copy into C:\Program Files\Vendio, with the first copy in C:\Program Files\AuctionWatch (the first unsuccessful try I loaded the second file into C:\Auction Utilities); and .... this time both copies worked.

I guess I still don't understand why the second download corrupted the first program in the beginning, as both copies were 5.0 (with the initial being an upgrade?)and were each in separate file folders.

Needless to say, it was quite upsetting to think I had just lost ~85 batch files and almost 2000 images and thumbnails; especially when the resynch recovery process would have to take place over my sloooow, old, way out in the country dial up ISP.

BUT long story short, all seems well now, and THANKS AW/V for your help, support, and great software! You sure make my listing life easier, even when these little 'speed-bumps' occasionally pop up in the Internet road.......... lol.

P.S. --- Hope Spell Check for SMPro is not too far behind??
