Many of my auctions are very old. Tons of changes have occurred both with Vendio and Ebay. And the store still retains some very old stuff.

I am creating all new auctions for the same items and doing it in Pro.

With the old Pro, I'd have wiped out inventory and store stock and uploaded all the new auctions (250).

Now it appears with the new Pro, I should do it the other way around i.e. create the auctions in on-line inventory, send to the store, create cross-sales, etc.

I've always worked from Pro with an individual batch for each title.

If I begin the auction creation process in on-line inventory, how do I get that auction to SM Pro?

And when I do get tthe new auctions to SM Pro and later relaunch from SM pro, will the cross-sales links be maintained?

I know you hate to answer 2 questions in one e-mail but...

Fred

Hi Fred,

Online and Offline inventory do not synchronize -- if you create your listing in inventory online, then you can launch it from there. There is a way to download online inventory, but it does not download directly into Pro -- it downloads as a CSV file, which you would then get into Pro by way of the Inventory Importer. That can get rather tedious so we recommend you start with inventory, in Pro.

If you wanted to download what you have online into Pro, here is the link that will allow you to download your online inventory:

http://www.vendio.com/my/client/selectdump.html

Once the inventory has been downloaded into a .csv file, it can be imported using the following steps:

In Sales Manager Pro, go to Tools -> Inventory Importer -> Text File (comma-separated fields.) Find your file, click "Import", and map the fields. If you find that there are non-matching fields, leave the map field blank. Note that the field titles in the inventory importer do not necessarily match the downloaded inventory title exactly. Also, be sure that you detach any images that have been removed online before you download your inventory, as you will receive an error on import if the image attached to your inventory item does not exist online.

To launch an auction from Pro inventory, open up a new batch window and just drag it from Inventory to the batch window. You'll then be prompted to pick your listing format and you can continue from there.

I am actually not sure on the cross sales links being retained -- I will check on this.

Regards,

Sonya

If I create the auction in Inventory Pro, and Pro and online don't synch, my online inventory will be blank?

Hello forceten32

Yes, your online inventory and your offline inventory will not synch together.

Best regards,

Tara

Have the programmers become so enamoured of their toys? To sever any direct tie between online and Pro because someone may wind up with double entries in their inventory is spurious.

On-line inventory offers more gadgets than off-line inventory but for ease of handling, its better create auctions off-line. Then when I finally get all 250 auctions committed to offline, I can go and do it all again for online.

Boys and their toys.
