Hello,

-- With the recent ebay changes to item page, a new photo will appear at the top of the page if the seller uploads a photo to the first (free) iPIX photo location.

-- I use Vendio Image hosting service with Sales manager Pro.

-- I thing that the new eBay item pages will look like "crippled" if the seller don't use the iPEX and therefore no image will be displayed at the top of the page.

-- Now, my question to Vendio team is: Is it possible that Vendio include an option ( at SMpro or at preferences ) that the first image ( using Vendio Image hosting ) on each item page would also be dowloaded to iPIX ?

Thank you -- Jose

Hey that's a great question Jose!

You learned me something! <g>

I always wondered how sellers got the small pic in the upper left in the old eBay listing views - never could figure that out. I see that it toggles from the iPix image that is at eBay... same for the New Item view that eBay has... toggles from the 1st (free) iPix image.

Vendio hosts all of my images also. I had to check it out and was able to manually go to my active auctions (that don't have bids) and revise the auction to add a picture using the free iPix slot. I just selected the SAME first picture that I uploaded through Vendio for the auction.

Now, all of my original Vendio hosted images are still there in the auction but NOW I also have the little pic in the upper left for the old auction views and the pic on the left in the New Item Views! Best of both worlds!

But doing this manually could get tedious. This is something that SHOULD already be happening but since our images are hosted at Vendio and actually never appear on eBay's servers then we are missing out on this important free feature - actually it's not free since you get one free image with the posting fee.

VENDIO: I concur with Jose - since our information for our auction is transmitted to eBay when we launch an auction from Vendio, why can't Vendio and eBay get together and take our number 1 image and transfer it to iPix automatically? - I know the corporate answer from eBay will be because this is a distractor from their own revenue-creating iPix image hosting, but hey, in reality when we launch an auction through Vendio, in eBay's server's eyes we have posted an auction with no images! Yes, there are calls to images offsite but strip it down and look at it in reality - eBay's servers house no images for our auction so in reality we have a "free" image hosting "owed" to us by eBay for the basic $.30 listing fee. There's some fodder to work with eBay and get this through to enhance Vendio's image hosting service that much more - could be a major breakthrough in image hosting.

Just send me a small commission check or credit it direct to my account (and Jose's too!)

Thanks!
Greg

Hello,

I apologize for the late response. We are aware of the upcoming changes to the eBay form. We will work to accomodate the changes that they are making.

Regards,

Sonya

Hi Sonya,

Thanks for your answer.

Please note that eBay changes are effective today and we all need this change quickly.

The change we need is that the first image ( using Vendio Image hosting ) on each item page would also be dowloaded to iPIX .

Could you give us an idea WHEN it will be implemented ?

Thank you
Jose

Okay... I just went in and MANUALLY added my first FREE image to eBay's iPix for EACH of my auctions... what a pain in the assets! I think I wore my mouse clicker out.

VENDIO: I find it impossible to believe that this simple "change" caught you by surprise. Who's dragging their feet? The "upcoming changes to the eBay form" as mentioned above have cometh... it's called real time and it's happening now!

I'm adding the pics manually so my auctions don't look stupid.

Can you please escalate this and help make all of our auctions not look stupid?

Just remember, OUR auctions have the Vendio label on them and that tells the world who is making the auctions look stupid (without the picture up top). I don't think you want that.

Hurry please!!!! Life is happening at the speed of light on the internet!

Regards as always,

Greg

Just had a brilliant idea.

I'll create one image and manually upload it through eBay iPIX for each of my auctions from now until this is resolved.

It will be a text image and it will read:

-----------------------
NO IMAGE IN THIS SPOT
COURTESY OF EBAY & VENDIO
CONTRACTIBLE DISAGREEMENTS
SEE SELLER'S VENDIO-HOSTED
IMAGES BELOW
-----------------------

May as well give credit where credit is due.

Greg
