I just downloaded the 5.2 but none of my inventory came with it and my images too. What's up , I used the wizard. I just read about putting it in the same file as before everything should be ok well the other file is labeled auction watch and the new one vendio. So how do I fix this problem?

Hi Golfwidow1,

If you have an earlier version of SM Pro, and you've already downloaded and installed SM Pro 5.2 into the default Vendio directory, you will need to copy the batch files from the previous default location ( C: /Program Files/AuctionWatch/batches ) into the new location ( C: /Program Files/Vendio/batches ).

You may do the same with the inv.dat file (located in the Data folder), which will copy your existing inventory listings (be sure to copy this to the Data folder in the new installation.) Please do not attempt to copy the profile.dat file as this may cause problems.

The safest way to copy your images into the new Pro version is to synchronize, although you may be able to successfully copy the images from the Images folder in the old directory into the Images folder in the new directory.

Regards,

Sonya

Sonya, thank you, I will try that, can I then delete my 5.1 pro with my window explorer after that? How come we just couldn't update this is a pain. I synchronized all my images and they when into one default file and I had to drag all of them into new folders I created. I'll let you know how it works, thanks again.

Hi Golfwidow1,

You can delete it once you are done with the update. The reason you had to go through this was because you installed it in a new directory (Vendio, rather than AuctionWatch) -- as long as you continue to install new versions in the same directory, you will be okay from here on out.

Let us know if you have trouble with the transfers.

Regards,

Sonya

Sonya, It worked as much as I can tell , my inventory is back. I think you should warn people about the newer updates , I was 5.1 and went to 5.2 and just put the files in my program file as auction watch was but with the new name of vendio they didn't over write the auction watch or go into those files. Programs/auctionwatch is different than Programs/vendio. Thanks again.
