I recently selected an option in vendio to have "See my detailed item discription before bidding." added to my listing. I didn't realize that it would replace my gallery picture inside my listing. I didn't like it so I reversed the option. But, after I had already posted quite a few items. I have tried everything to get those pictures to show up there again and cannot. Do you have a suggestion?

Hello,

For the ones already active, you'll need to edit them individually on eBay to replace that gif image with your actual image for that auction. You may use this URL for that purpose:

http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/imageserver.x/00000000/yourAWusername/yourimagefilename.jpg

This URL can be used in any auction and can be altered to point to any image in your list simply by changing the image filename portion - just be sure that the filename *exactly* matches the filename on our site (case-sensitive.)

Regards,

Sonya

Once it is launched everything has to be done at ebay. Changing your vendio settings only affects future auctions.

Whether it is the image in the official ebay Gallery you paid extra for, or the gallery-like photo Preview Image in the upper left corner, Vendio will have sent something on your behalf to ebay for each listing according to whatever your preferences were at the time. If you need to change both, do both--one under the edit Gallery image section, and one under the edit attached image section at ebay.

Go to the ebay Revise Your Item page for each listing and select revise your description. Scroll down to attached images or Gallery image section or both. There will be something attached already by vendio in the image section(s). Erase whichever one you don't want. Use the Gallery Image code box for the ebay paid Gallery, or for the free attached/Preview image use the revision box for outside image hosting code (that means not ipix hosting) and paste in your vendio outside image hosting code for whatever image you want in each place. For an attached image that displays as-is without clickable enlargement, the image location code will be:
http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/imageserver.x/00000000/yourvendioImagehostingIDname.nameofyourimage.jpg

For the Ebay paid Gallery box, ebay will load that image into your ebay gallery. For the attached/Preview Image box, ebay will load that into the bottom of the listing underneath the description and automatically size and load it into the upper left corner Preview slot.

If you also need to change anything inside your description, that has to be done within the html of your template that vendio sent to ebay and can be found scrolling through the complete html of your listing above.

I don't use clickable images, so if you need the code for clickable/enlargeable images in either place you will need to get that from vendio plus their instructions. It can be quite lengthy to paste in because it has all the code for returning the image to the enlargement page via the anchor and href tags. Perhaps customer wervice would be so kind to post that here for all of us in the future.

Hope that helps.

Hi Passedtothepresent and Feltvintage,

The first step for obtaining code for the clickable image is to go to My Account > Global Preferences and make sure you select the option down in Item Listing Options to scale down images. This turns on Image Resize.

Next, to obtain the code which contains your image URL(s), follow these steps:

1. Click the Image Hosting tab.
2. Check the box next to the image(s) that you wish to select.
3. On the bottom of the page, click the "Attach" button.
4. Choose "Other Auction Site (generate HTML)", select New Auction, and click "Continue"
5. On the next page, copy and paste the entire block of HTML (which includes your image URL) into whichever form you want it to go in.

Let us know if you have any problems with this process.

Regards,

Sonya

Hi Sonya. Thank you very, very, much. I ended up not using the blank template to roll a custom version of the vendio storefront template html into, so I didn't need it. But if I work with custom material in the blank template later this summer, I it may come in handy. Sorry I misplaced my first copy of it you sent me quite awhile back.
