Hello,
I have upgraded my SM Pro to the newest version, and ever since I am unable to use it. I have tried many times to un-install it and re-install it without any success. I can create a new listing until I get to the second page where I have to choose a category. As soon as I "browse" for my category, my entire SM Pro page disappears from the screen and I am staring at my control panel page. If I tried to click back on the program, it tells me that it is already running, yet, I can't find it anywhere. Then shortly after that I get a error message and I have to reboot.
I cannot figure out what is wrong. It worked fine until I upgraded. Now, I want to go back to the old version, but I can't do that either. Any suggestions?

Hi beabids,

You are not alone. I am now half-dead with the new version 6.1 : I cannot sell anymore in eBay. I have tried so many times uploaded batches & batches of listing and although the panel page shows all the listing is syncronized, nothing is listed in eBay. It's been 8th days since I upgraded to 6.1 and I did not get any sales. And the worse is that we don't see any reply or announcements from the Vendio team. We are all " walking dead people ". After 6 years of hard work and this is what we get into !

Hi beabids,

please be so kind and tell us more about the operating system you are using: Windows version, service packs installed, etc. as well as the hardware configuration: processor type and speed, amount of RAM, maybe hard disk free space. This will help us reproduce the error (and correct it in a timely manner).
Maybe you should try the following: run only Pro (e.g. no other programs running), immediately after boot. If the problem persists, do post again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

see our response in the other thread. Unfortunately new features may lead to such dis-functionality, but in your case the error can be fixed with by entering a correct ZIP code (or leave the space blank if you do not wish your items to be included in proximity search)

Thank you for responding so quickly. This is the information you requested:
Window version is 98 SE
Service Pack installed is Service Pack I
Processor Type is Pentium III Processor
Speed is 450 MGHZ
Ram is 256.0 MB
Hard drive free space: Total capacity is 16.7 GB, Used Space is 3.43 GB, and Freee Spce is 13.3 GB.
I have also 1 hard drive, 1 CD, an 1 3.5 floppy drive. I have the new update of Norton anti virus, and I am on DSL.
I don't know if it makes any difference or not, but I also updated this new version of SMpro on my other computer, although I did take it out later on, but I still have the problem on either computer.
The error message I am getting at the end says that "the program has performed an illegal operation, and it will be shut down", and sure enough, it is...

Hi there,

We have looked into this, and unfortunately it appears that SM Pro version 6.1 will not function well on older systems running on Windows 98 with under 512 mb of RAM. We would recommend uninstalling this version and reinstalling version 6.0.2. Here is a link to download 6.0.2:

Please let us know if you have any trouble with the uninstall / reinstall process. You should be able to use the Add/Remove Programs wizard in Windows to uninstall the application.

Thank you Diana. I was able to re-install the old version. It seems to work, but I have a couple of questions: When I am done with one listing and I want to close it and start a new one, it tells me that I need a Zip Code and I need to specify my shipping (Worldwide or just the States). I went to Ebay specifics in my Vendio account, and checked these fields, and the box for shipping Worldwide is checked, and my Zip Code is there. Is there another place I am supposed to look into to make a correction?
Finally, would you say that it would be best for be to restrain from upgrading to any further version until such a time I upgrade my computer itself?

Hi beabids,

in order to solve your problem with the ZIP code, the solution would be to go online to your eBay specifics page, eventually correct your ZIP code and Save (or simply save). Then start SMPro and sync. You will be able to create listings and upload them. (again, sorry for the inconvenience, but the new Pro version uses a different set of preferences, so you must download the old ones).

I cannot use this sm pro version 6.1, but I have Window XP.

Window XP Home Edition version 2002
Service Pack 2
Processor Type is Pentium 4 CPU 2,80 GHZ
Ram is 512.0 MB

Hard drive free space: Total capacity is 18.6 GB, and Freee Space is 1.49 GB.
I have also 1 hard drive, 1 dvd. I have the antivir.

What happens when you try to use the program that you are unable to do so?

Please let us know what steps you take to where you run into trouble. Include any error messages you are running into.

I sympathize with your problems since I am having trouble working with this newest version of SMPRO myself. What I am doing at the moment is working with the old version which I was able to reload. The link was given to me by a nice person from the Vendio team who is trying very hard to understand what is going on and how to fix it. I also received additional information to try something else which I will try tomorrow. I will let you know if it works. Apparently, my problem is due to the fact that I am using the older version of Window 98 SE with less than 512 ram. I have another faster computer with 512 ram, but so far I am having the same problem with this one too.
For the moment, I think that the older version is better than nothing. At least it works!

We use windows XP , we have 2 6.1 install on the computer (2 accounts) , no problems at all !!!!!
