I've been having this problem for the past week or two. I get the error as shown below:

Synchronization failed - Unable to resolve server name
There is a problem with starting the sync process.
Please make sure that the values entered for Proxy Host and Port under the SMPro menu entry Edit > Preferences are correct.
If proxy settings are correct, please check the Announcements page on the Vendio site.

My ISP does not require a proxy host and it used to work before. Please advise.

Thanks,
Alan

Hello,

In Pro, please go to Preferences and make sure you have the Proxy box unchecked. Once you've verified that please synchronize again. If you get an error again please click on details and copy the text in there in a return post to us so we can diagnose the error.

Are you on the latest version of Pro and if so, did it used to work for you? Or has it done this since upgrading?

Regards,

Sonya

I did have the proxy box unchecked and have always been on the latest version of Sales Manager Pro. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the application after experiencing the problem but I still experience the same problem. Here is the error message that I get from Sales Manager Pro.

Warning!

Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Thanks,
Alan

Just figured it out after posting the last message. Problem was caused by Norton Internet Security. Need to figure out how to configure the firewall to allow traffic from Sales Manager Pro to go through.

Norton, and most other anti-virus programs, will conflict with programs that interface with the internet.

Best thing to do is turn it off temporarily while you are syncing data and sending batches.

I'll check with someone else to see if there's a check list for settings that allow Norton to run simulatneously with SMPro.
Best Regards,

Hello,

Please check this page for firewall configuration with Norton Internet Security:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nip.nsf/3897bf24c622c3ef85256eda00456216/a8d1432baff29a628825689c0073386e?OpenDocument&src=bar_sch_nam

You might find SM Pro listed as AMPro.exe in the list of applications.
