I allow people to pick up items at my shop. When I ship, I require insurance on all items; no exceptions. However, it seems silly (and probably illegal) to provide an invoice that shows insurance on a pickup item.
How can I set SM Pro so that the required insurance doesn't show up on pickup items?

Hello Claude,
There is no way to make insurance apply only to specific carriers. What you can do instead is use the insurance rate tables from My Account > Global Preferences. In this case, you need to make the Custom rate table (which applies to custom carriers) to be $0, whatever the item's value.
Another option is to include insurance cost in the shipping costs, and set the insurance option to be "Included in Shipping & Handling". For pick up, shipping + insurance will stay at $0.

Thanks Radu, but since I never know what the final price will be, I can't really do that.
Anyway, can you please log this as an enhancement request. I'm sure that I'm not the only Vendio user who allows pickup, and there should be some kind of preference that can be set (e.g., $0 service charge for pickup, no insurance, cash only, etc.).
