With version 7.0, apparently you must use "fixed" insurance rates if you're using fixed shipping rates. Why? I want to insure packages based on the value of the item. I have no idea what that will be until the auction closes.

Can someone walk me step by step through the process that will allow winning bidder checkout to calculate that based on the closing price? Version 6.0 didn't seem to have this issue.

Hi there,

This is only the case if you are specifying Shipping and Payment details in eBay Site Specifics, and it is because eBay will not allow fixed insurance rates with calculated shipping. If you choose the "I'm not specifying Shipping and Payment details" for eBay, you will eliminate this error.

Thanks,

Diana

I have that option already checked in my preferences. I'm using fixed shipping rates--just trying to have the insurance coverage automatically calculated based on the price of the items purchased.

I don't believe this was an issue with the last version of Vendio.

This is a problem regardless of whether or not you choose to "specify shipping".

I did listings last night and even with vendio calculated shipping options and calculated insurance, I got the pop up telling me I had to enter an insurance amount.

I more frequently use fixed shipping and again, even though I have it set not to specify in the ebay s/h field, the program insists on a fixed insurance amount.

Please be aware that this is definitely an issue.

Hi there,

This actually may be related to an earlier version of SM Pro 7.0. We released some bug fixes for 7.0 in early January, but the fixes wouldn't have applied automatically. If you redownload SM Pro from our website, and reinstall it over your current installation, the problem should be resolved.

Please let us know if you continue to have trouble.

Best regards,

Diana

Nope...tried to re-install but still am being required to enter an insurance amount.

I wish you guys would iron out the bugs before releasing a new version. 7.0 has NOT been an upgrade from 6.0.

Can you send me a link to go back to 6.0?

Hello,

Sorry for the confusion. You *can* offer calculated insurance and fixed shipping, even in the SMPro V7.01.

On the 'eBay Site Information' tab, click on the 'Payment Instructions and Details' button at the bottom/center.

Check the box marked 'I am not specifying shipping costs for eBay checkout' - then click the 'ok' button.

The only reason you would have to list a fixed insurance rate is if you are specifying eBay checkout details and using fixed shipping costs. Its an eBay limitation only.

Regards,
Christopher

Hi Christopher, FYI: I was having the same problem over the past two months, even after installing the newest version. It eventually caused several auctions to not launch. I did as you instructed, making the changes online instead of SMPRO. After I snyced up SMPRO, it still didn't work. Only after I made the changes in SMPRO did the fix solve the problem.
