I have SM Pro on two different computers.

One is Version 7.0 (Build 1369), and the other, having been downloaded and re-installed a little while ago, is the latest Version 7.0.1 (Build 1373).

The program has just become effectively unusable on both machines. It crashes almost as soon as it opens, usually precipitated by closing the html editor when editing an item.

All SM Pro components, and, as far as I am aware, all shared files were removed before the newer version was installed on the second machine.

Both machines are running Windows XP

What's going on? Anyone else having similar problems.

Hello,

Do you receive an error when or before Sales Manager Pro crashes, or does it close without an error?

Both.

When the problem first arose I was getting the usual windows error screen 'SM Pro has generated an error and needs to close'. Over the course of an hour or so this occured many more times with less time between instances, culminating in the program tending to close without any error message - just disappearing off the screen.

I just tried using it again (latest version)and it managed to work for a few minutes then stalled on saving a batch item and generated the 'windows' error.

Problem TEMPORARILY solved using System Restore - SM Pro worked long enough to complete and upload one batch

Now crashing again - no error messages, screen just closes

ANY IDEAS? Everything else on the machine is working perfectly

Hello,

Please first make sure that your Windows updates are current.

Then please try opening the data folder (located in the Vendio or AuctionWatch directory) and deleting the following files:

- partner.dat
- prefs.dat
- custemps.dat
- info.map
- Partners.map
- Preferences.map
- Customtemplates.map

Once you have deleted these files, try resynchronizing. If you are still having trouble after doing this, please let us know.

Done all that.

Program crashed again - windows error generated this time.

I got as far as editing one batch item. The Html editor saved revisions without crashing the program, but it crashed on the very next click - i.e. when saving the item to the batch.

If I don't get this resolved very soon, i'll have no option but to sign up with another auction manager.

Hello,


1. Please go to the Windows Update site (click Tools > Windows Update in the Internet Explorer menu). Install the critical updates and Service Packs the site recommends, especially those for Windows and Internet Explorer.

2. Install also Visual Basic 6.0 SP6 Run-Time Files. The link to this kit is:

3. If the program is still not working properly, please uninstall and install SM Pro again once the above steps are completed.
