I chose to use the combined shipping option leave it blank if using combined insurance capibility and when I try to list with SMP it now will not save a listing unless I go in and fill in the insurance price. it says leave blank if you want to be able to use combined insurance etc bla bla bla out beside it but SMP will not let me continue unless I now fill in the $1.35 insurance charge. What is the deal. I had changed my options back when this came about and have not listed in a week or so and now I am back to filling in that blank. guess the combined insurance is NOT working like it should. I did what the instructions told me to do when I changed my preferences for using it. NOW what?

Hello,

Im not sure your follwing the directions properly. The insurance field in SMPro is only supposed to be left blank when your using Calculated shipping options and have indicated that in your ebay shipping and payment details. (or if you do not specify eBay shipping and payment details, you can mix calc insurance with fixed shipping.)

Otherwise if you indicate to eBay that your charging a fixed insurance amount, then they want a fixed insurance rate.

This is the case anyway if the error your getting is as follows :

Although it doesnt really matter which one you do, as the new preference will ignore your settings anyway for combined orders.

The new preference :
Apply rate tables during checkout of multiple-item orders (this will override insurance costs entered with individual items)

So even with $1.35 in the insurance field, it will be ignored for 'multiple-item orders' and use your rate table instead.

Our apologies if your referring to a different section on the listing form, please let us know if this is the case.

Regards,
Christopher

I think that answered it fine. guess I will fix it so I don't have to enter it each time. I did find that if I use calculated I still have to put a fixed price down too. Is that because I am doing the ebay shipping thing? Don't understand why they won't just let us choose a shipping option and let the insurance also show up too, regardless of it being fixed or not.

Hello,

Click on the 'eBay site information' tab, then the 'Payment instructions and Details' button at the bottom/center part of this tab.

If you have 'I AM specifying....' for the eBay shipping and payment details, check the box labeled 'I use calculated shipping rates' - this way if you use calculated shipping carriers you can also leave the insurance field blank so that it can be calculated.

Actually, check to be sure you are on the most recent version of the program as well. There was a previous version where the field did require you to enter a value even when you do all of the things mentioned above.

7.0.1 is the most recently available version.

Christopher

Went to download latest version I have according to help about AMP 7.0 The download page says it is 7.0 Where do I get 7.0.1? I think I must already have that version download page says it is Nov. 17, 2005 edition I have build 1369. Is there a newer version than that?

OK will try that on next one I list and see what happens. Maybe I won't goof it up.
Thanks.
