I've read through all the fixes and finally got Smpro to load on my computer by NOT syching the images. I finally got the images to synch but now when I go to upload its saying Smpro has stopped working and windows will close it down. Any help would be most appreciated.

Hello Gail,

Please let us know exactly which fixes you used for your last installation of SM Pro, so that we can better help you with this.

Nathan

Hi Nathan - I haven't a clue - LOL. Just kept trying different ways you had suggested previously. The last time I opted not to synch the pictures and it downloaded. It also let me synch the pictures without a problem after download, my preferences are all there, too. When I try a test auction to upload, it's telling me the program has stopped responding almost immediately.

Thanks-

Gail

Nathan - I just tried saving the batch before uploading and it comes up saying a problem caused the program to stop working properly, too.

Hello Gail,

Please first uninstall Sales Manager Pro. Then create a new folder on your computer under users. For example, create the folder
C:\Users\USER_NAME\Vendio (where USER_NAME is the username for your computer). Then install SM Pro from a Vista Administrator account. Be sure to select to install to the folder that you have just created. Also, do not choose to run the application from install (uncheck both checkboxes in the last screen during installation.) After installing, run the program from the desktop icon. Provide the Vendio account information. Synchronize, then close and reopen the application.

Please let us know if you continue to have trouble with this after following those steps.

Regards,
Nathan

I have tried everything. I cannot get the program to work with Vista. I can use it but it now stops responding when I save, preview or upload. I'm running it as the administrator, downloaded it as the administrator. Do I perhaps have to change something within Vista to let the program work?

Hello,

Unfortunately since the quirks in Vista are not all identical from computer to computer, we have had to tweak the workarounds/fixes a little to cater to different users.
While all of these sound the same, they all include minor little differences that may help them work for your specific setup.

I believe you have done most of what is mentioned below, we have only tweaked a few of the steps (or the order in which they are done) but this should get you up and running.

Try the following:

Uninstall the program and restart the computer.
When finished, try the following:

1. Download the SMPRO software, opting to save - NOT run from its current location.
2. Create a new folder on your C:\Users\Yourusername directory, it doesnt matter what you call the folder.
3. Run the installer for the SMPRO software. When you get to the part where it asks where you want to install the software to, click browse and install it into this newly created folder in your Users directory.
4. When done installing, uncheck BOTH boxes to view the read me and launch the program.
5. Restart the computer.

5.5 - Right Click the SMPRO icon now on your desktop, then go to the Compatibility tab and check the box to run this program in Windows XP SP2 Mode, then Click OK.

6. Right click the SMPRO icon, and check the box to run this application as an administrator.
7. Launch the software. - When asked, say 'NO' if it asks if you want to download your images and preferences.
8. When the program is done loading, click the Preferences button along the left side of the page. Check the box at the very bottom of this window that says 'Do not download standard images from Vendio image hosting' and save the change.

At this point you should be able to synch without error.

Please let us know if this problem persists.

Regards,
Christopher
