This happened to me in April, can't remember what I did to fix it at the time,or if it just fixed itself? at any rate, it has started again. I have been fighting it all week... unable to save a description, having to start all over, several hours lost...I've learned to copy to another program before clicking OK, just in case it disappears or freezes on me. Sometimes I can get it to work, sometimes not...I see others are having trouble with Vista...but I still am using XP Home. I hope I don't have to give up using SM Pro as when it works, it saves a lot of time then having to go to the "Create Auction" way.
1. Go to the Windows control panel and click the ‘folder options’ menu. In the list of File Types, check both "htm" and "html" and be sure they are both assigned a default web browser. If not, click to ‘browse’ and assign Internet Explorer as the default application.
2. It is possible that the DHTML library files are no longer properly registered on your system. Please register them again:
- Go to the "c:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Triedit" folder.
- Register each of the DLL and OCX files in this directory:
+ Right click on it
+ Choose "Open with..."
+ Click "Choose program..."
+ Click "Other"
+ Find regsvr32.exe. It is in your "Windows\system32" folder
+ Click Open.
Please let us know whether or not this solves the problem.

Well, I am not computer illiterate, but neither am I computer savvy...I did #1 and the file types were both "Firefox document" (which by the way--I haven't had Firefox that long...so mabe it is the cause of the problems)...
#2 I got up to the part where I clicked on Open with...
I got threatened with "you can damage your system by opening these files"
please assure me it won't damage my computer before I click on Open With...
Following step 1 may have solved the problem. If you would feel more comfortable, you might want to wait and see if it did. Otherwise, feel free to follow step 2. It should not harm your system.

Step 1 ?--I didn't do anything --except tell you what is showing...
Also, I forgot to mention a possible important thing...the last time it froze, a screen ask me to report the error to Microsoft...I wrote down the details of the error...the first part was the same for both...i.e., c\docume....etc,etc, the last part of each was...AMPro.exe.mdmp and the other was ...appcompat.txt
does this mean anything to you?
And...I just tried it again, it disappeared again/still not fixed.

Too deep for me...I have been sent online to find a file to open the folder and given several things to choose from...I'll have to hire an expert to go any further...or have someone walk me through the jungle of problems I'm running into trying to fix a problem!...there must be an easier way...I'm afraid I am not a computer wizard...
Why are you going online to find the file? The file is located on your computer. On which exact step are you running into trouble, and in exactly what way are you having trouble? Please be sure that you choose "select the program from a list", rather than use the web to find the correct program.

If I choose "select program from list" then what program do I select...I see no "regsvr32.exe" nor "Windows\system32"...

That is why I went online to find it, because they suggest I download software to open the program and then they flooded me with downloads to choose from...
After you choose to select the program from a list, click the "Browse" button. Then select your C drive --> open the "Windows" folder --> open the "system32" folder --> double click on the "regsvr32.exe" file. Then click "OK" to complete opening the file. Be sure to repeat this process for each of the DLL and OCX files that are in the "Triedit" folder. Please let us know should you continue to have trouble with this.
