Just bought new computer. Now evertime I do amything in Sales Manager Pro like save preferences I get a pop up saying SmPro has stopped working and windows is looking for a solution and then closes.very frustrating as I want to do a listing...Also the auction screen is very small and I can't make it larger. I can expand the batch screen but not the auction screen...

Hello,

Please try running Sales Manager Pro in Windows 98 compatibility mode and see if the helps. This can be done by right-clicking on the desktop icon for Sales Manager Pro. Then select "Properties" and go to the "Compatibility" tab. Then select to run the program in Windows 98 compatibility mode and see if that helps.

Regards,
Nathan

Hello,

What happens exactly when you try to save a batch? Do you get an error message? If so, what is the error message? Also, what size are you seeing for the auction screen? The size of the auction screen is not generally customizable.

Regards,
Nathan

I've selected Autosave.. But when I try to close the batch a popup comes and says you have unsaved changes are u sure u want to close...Tried to save and save as, and nothing happens...no name this batch or anything... The auction screen used to take up my whole screen with old computer... with this computer it the batch screen is twicw the size of the auction screen...it's not much bigger than the synchronize pop up when opening smpro

Hello,

Please also try running the program in Windows XP compatibility mode, and see if that helps. This can be done by following the same steps as those to run in Windows 98 mode, but by selecting Windows XP mode instead.

For the size of the auction screen, is there a maximize icon that is usable?

Regards,
Nathan

Hello,

Can you take a screenshot to show what part of Sales Manager Pro is showing up smaller to you?

As for the crashing issue, you should be able to get around this with running it in compatibility mode. Lately for Windows7 I have had the most luck with running it in Windows XP SP2 (not SP3) mode.

Sometimes it'll run into an issue when browsing my local hard drive for an image, but the rest of the functions appear to be working properly without crashing (where Windows terminates the program and pops up their notice.)

Chris

Hey, Chris. Mine is still having the same problem -- not in sizing, but in crashing the program every time I try to save. Your work-arounds don't work. As I said before, this is happening with a new top-o-the-line HP desktop running 64-bit Windows 7. It is just SO frustrating. I've done a free trial with Blackthorne, but I really want to stay with Vendio. Help, please. Marshall

Hello,

Unfortunately the SMPRO icon was last built for Windows XP and there are no plans currently to further develop the application as it's so limited in what it can do Vs the regular fully featured online Sales Manager that you have available to use.

That said there are some workarounds you can try to force SMPRO to run on a different OS like Windows 7, though I believe we tried most of them with you already in the thread you started for this issue in this forum. I wouldn't rule out previous workarounds though, as each time Windows releases an update to the OS it seems to have an effect on it's issue with terminating programs thinking they have stopped working. (Win 98 mode worked great for a while, then XP SP2 or SP3 mode was ideal for a while.)

Virtual PC works with the home edition and I have ran SMPRO in Virtual PC without any issues on a Windows 7 computer, though setting up Virtual PC with Windows XP would require access to a Windows XP install disc. That is realistically the best option to run the program on a Windows 7 computer without running into any issues at all.

Regards,
Chris
