After losing my computer last week I had to download the sales manager pro to my new computer but it's has a problem. It's sales manager pro 7.0.5 build 1428. Each time I try to do an auction as soon as I get it typed up and click on it to close to start the next one in the batch I'm doing the sales manger stops working and has to be closed because it freezes. I thought at first that the download had been corrupted and deleted it and did the download again and it did it again. It does not seem to have anything to do with how long it's open since it stayed open for hours while it sync'ed with my info and photos from the Vendio site.If you need it I'm on Windows 7. Lynn

Hello Lynn,
While some of our customers have been successful using SMPro on a Windows 7 machine, others have not. The first thing to try to get SMPro to work on a Windows 7 machine is to try running the program in different compatibility modes. This can be done by right-clicking on the SMPro desktop icon and selecting "Properties". Then click the "Compatibility" tab and select to run the program in compatibility mode. Then try Windows 98 compatibility mode. If that does not work try Windows XP SP2. If that does not work try the other compatibility options in turn. While we unfortunately cannot guarantee that this will work for your Windows 7 machine, some of our customers have been successful when making those changes.

Nathan Thanks for answering but there is a problem. When I click on properties there is no compatibility mode tab.The sales manager itself seems to be running when I use it just as soon as I go to save or close something that is when it stops working. As I said I had no problems when it sync all of my info and photos off of the web site. Weird! Lynn

Nathan,The tabs at the top of the property window that opens up are General, Sharing, Security,Previous Versions, and customize. Of course previous version is blank with this being a new computer.Lynn

Hello,
No worries, I haven't actually had much luck at all lately with Windows compatibility modes unfortunately.
The biggest block lately, in terms of running the Pro software on a more recent version of Windows than it was created for - is if you have any Microsoft Office products installed. There was an update to Office in the past year that's causing programs to be terminated by Windows, after it thinks they have crashed (when they haven't, it just terminates the app 'for you.')
If your in a position to do so, removing Microsoft Office may help restore it's functionality.
The best solution however, is running Pro in XP Mode if your version of Windows 7 has it. That, or switching to the fully featured online version of the Sales Manager instead of the stripped down offline one.

Chris. Thanks, I do have he complete MS office 2010 installed on this computer. Can I just turn it off somehow. The way I do my auctions on Ebay it is too much to use the on line sales manager pro just because it really is not set up to quickly do each of my very different and seperate auctions ahead of time. It would be easy to use if I only had a limited number of different products that I could just list over and over again but that is not the case. Even on a product of mine that has similar year and fit same vehicle descriptions price and photos will be different. As it is now with either the sales manager online or desktop I still have to go into each auction and revise upon launch. Since my version of windows 7 does not seem to permit setting for previous windows is there a way to turn that feature on? Up until last week I had used Windows Vista with no problems and I'm still trying to learn this new windows that I don't like

Chris, Thanks for the offer but could we possibly set up a call for next week or the following week? I'm so back logged right now getting everything set up and I'm having surgery on Friday so time is limited.I have been able to do a couple of batches on the desktop by copying at least the description before I save and close the listing then if It freezes I restart and reopen and just paste it and reapply the photos. after I successfully close each ad I've been hitting save so that I don't lose the completed ones. I've bookmarked that link till I have time to go in and read it on the Windows XP. Funny that my last computer had Vista on it and I never had a problem with the sales manager pro
