I have literally tried to install sales manager pro 35 times. I download it from the vendio site...
hit run.... it acts like its unpacking the files and then..... nothing.

I have been using pro for I guess about 15 years, I have been out of work for days~~

Help! PLEASE!

Hello,

What is prompting you to reinstall the program? Was it running on this machine and stopped, or are you installing it into this computer for the first time?

If you don't have saved batches or previous work to worry about, uninstall and delete everything related to SMPRO before you try it again.

The most important part afterward is to be sure you are downloading the file to your computer first and then running it - don't opt to 'open' it from the download menu. Try saving the file to your desktop first and once it's downloaded, close and exit out of all other running programs first.

Please let us know the progress of your efforts.

Regards,
Chris

Hi Chris,

I am downloading it on a new computer. I have installed everything else.... 2 printers, quickbooks, photo editing programs with ease.

I have literally tried over 35 times now...nothing to uninstall with the exception of the Vendio SM Pro set up download to my documents>downloads (that wont unpack). I have 2 setup downloads there that wont delete, I get an error message "access denied make sure the disk is not write protected and that file is not in use" ......WHAT?? I don't have any kind of disk??

I did try sending it to the desktop as well, still nothing, the setup downloads and installs an icon but wont unpack

This is just insane, I have been out of work now for over a week having only the ability to relist.....any other suggestions?
I have get something listed I am going broke. LOL

Hello Lisa,

Note that you can list from the fully featured Sales Manager anytime. There's a ton of plusses to using the real Sales Manager Vs the offline version of it. You don't have to sync, you don't have to upload batches, you can access all of your data from any location and any computer by simply logging into your Vendio account from the website as you have done to post here.

From the Sales Manager page, click the 'Create Listing' link in the upper left hand corner, just under the eBay logo. The system will walk you through the rest of the process automatically.

That said, if you don't want to use the full version of Sales Manager and simply prefer the old Pro software - please let us know a few more details about this new computer. Do you know what version of Windows it's running? XP, Vista, 7 or 8?

Regards,
Chris

well....
to say that I am frustrated and disappointed would be an understatement, like I said I use pro, have been for many many years between my 2 user names. I use pro because it saves all my batches and I use them over and over again, tweaking them for sizes and lengths on my nylon stockings. I copy a whole batch so I dont have to re-write it and then just go in and change the color and add new pictures....saves tons of time and then save that new color, copy and keep doing that for each size.

I just broke down and was going to use the other online version. Took new pictures saved them on this new computer added everything I needed, wrote the description and low and behold when I went to add the pictures using the Select existing images or "UPLOAD IMAGES" green button..... IT TAKES ME TO a "CUSTOM TEMPLATE PREVIEW" window, no where no how can I attach any of my photos.... WHAT THE HECK!
This is crazy.... I have literally lost over $2000 in the last 2 weeks of monkeying around with this

I use firefox. (but I also tried to download in Internet explorer) I have a dell Dimension computer, it is running XP home (I hate vista)
I have installed a Ricoh lazer printer, a UPS thermal printer, UPS worldship, numerous photo programs, quickbooks and many other programs without even a hiccup....what could be wrong here?
Now I can't even move along with your other suggestion of the online sales manager.... I am out of business right now and I can't go on any longer like this....please some more suggestions, at least why can I not even load pictures with online SM

Hi Chris
Just an update. I tried the online version again, after loosing all my information I had previously written. I started over and this time the green button worked (I had tried it before at least 5 times and it took me to a preview screen each and every time) this time it took me where is was supposed to and I did upload my images.

I really do not like this version, don't trust that I will spend an hour writing something only to have it wiped out. I like my batches
please let me know what you can to get me back on track

Thanks
Lisa

Hello Lisa,

It's extremely unlikely that you would ever lose your work listing from the online tools, so I wouldn't let that stop you from listing from them. Your odds of having issues with lost work would always be higher in the software program Pro being used offline, even when working perfectly.

As for the original issue, where Pro never even tries to start the install process:

1. Restart the computer.
2. Delete any previous downloads and install attempts that you can find. (followup - can you delete those files after the restart, the ones that were warning to have been in use previously?)
3. Download a new copy of the Pro program to your desktop. do not run it at this time.
4. Restart the computer.
5. Close any and all open and running programs that you can find. (there are a number of programs that may start running as soon as you turn your computer on, these are what you want to disable for now.)
6. Try running the installer (followup - does it start installing now?)

If that still doesn't allow you to even start the install process, we will next try installing it under Safe Mode. (to start in safe mode you restart the computer and then press and hold down F8 on your keyboard. You know you did it correctly when you are prompted to choose which startup option you want.)

Once in Safe Mode try running the installer again.

Let us know the results of your efforts.

Regards,
Chris
