Back in January Idecided that I no longer wanted a Paypal account. I went through the apropriate steps as outlined in an email from them and closed (I thought) the account. Last week a buyer mistakenly sent payment to me through Paypal and it was accepted by them. I went to Paypal and was still able to login. That being the case, I thought I'd just send the money back and then attempt to close the account again. I've sent the refund twice now and the buyer tells me that he is unable to accept it because I'm not verified. What's up with this? I have no intention of giving Paypal account numbers to become verified. I just want to send this money back and close the account(again). Any help that anyone can give will be appreciated.

Hi jeva757,
Users are able to cancel their account by logging in and going to the account PROFILE. You should see an option there to close the account.
I would recommend sending payment back to the user, as it will be the easiest way to rectify the problem. You can then close the account.
(Account closures have to be done by the customer because it is password-protected, which lets us know that the creator of the account closed it).
My apologies for the issue not being taken care of originally.
