Hi there, has anyone been having problems getting into paypal today? I keep getting the message that "Server cannot locate www.paypal.com" when I try to access them. I have never had this problem in the past.

For the last couple of weeks, it seems like the PayPal site was unavailable from time to time. It took 3 days of trying until I got on. Now, it's starting again, and this is the second day in a row I am unable to access the site. I keep thinking that it might be my settings, but some of my bidders are having problems getting there also. Has anyone have any answers or suggestions?

I have experienced this problem with PayPal a lot lately. Some big time software problems, I guess. It bothers me because I like to pay for an auction ASAP before I forget to do it due to a short term memory problem I have. Sometimes they're down so long I send the seller a check or MO instead. Don't know what is going on, but software is far from perfect. That's why when I make a sale and the bidder pays by PayPal I immediately have the $$ transferred into my bank account before PayPal goes down again.
I remember when Air France was showing off a jet that was being run by a software program. The plane took a nosedive into the woods. So much for relying on software.

I sign on to PayPal several times a day and I can't remember the last time I had any trouble.

Hi there,
Got on today at noon with no problems. I won an auction today at 5:30pm CST and had no problems getting to the PayPal site to pay for the item. So far so good. Guess what? Right now it's 9:45pm CST and the PayPal site is down-cannot access. Any technicians out there know what's going on?

I have been trying periodically today and have not gotten through once.
I used to wonder when people complained about PayPal because I always got through with no problem, but lately I have difficulty with it.
Oh well, se la vie.
Peace all.

Hi there,
Oh well, here it goes again. It's 10:30pm CST and the site is unavailable. So far I have been paid twice by my alternative payment methods because my bidders could not access the site. If there is a problem, either my machine, my ISP, or the PayPal site itself, I would like to know and I am sure many others would like to know also.

I'm kinda glad someone else is having problems logging in! I've been trying for the past 5 hours! I've tried every way and link possible but still get DNS error-not found....This is really strange since I've receieved notice of payment from one of my bidders during this time.
What gives?

Hi there,
My e-mail from the Auction Guild indicated that PayPal was down all morning until 1:00pm. That is why I list alternative payment methods on my auctions. Still we have no explanation why PayPal is having these on and off down times, and will it ever get fixed? Sure, you do expect some down time with anything for that matter, but this thing with the PayPal site is much too often.

Hi,
Access was fine from my location yesterday and it could have been problems with the ISP you were connecting with.
I would also recommend clearing the cache so that information doesn't "hang" around.

I really think its a "traffic" problem with PayPal.I subscribe to 2 different ISP's so if one goes down I can still keep my businesses up and running. I had the same problems logging in to PayPal using different ISP connections...even tried different computers to make sure it isn't my configs.PayPal has problems...may be regional?...

Hi,
I am able to log in from California. Could be regional connectivity issues.

HAS ANYONE BEEN "DOUBLE DIPPED" FROM PayPal? My bank was quick enough to put a hold on the second amount they tried to take out within 24 hours. However, they have not responded to my emails regarding this money. Also, they have been down for about 2 hours so far. If you search Yahoo for PayPal complaints the BBB has several about double dipping and fraud. It's frightening.

Hi MyLisa522,
I can look at the transaction if you would like at [email protected]. I have a feeling you may have used our Instant ACH service (which allows for instant access to an add funds request by securing it against the credit card as a hold only.).
This is where all the issues of double-dipping come from and it is when the user makes a choice on the send money screen.
My email address is [email protected].
