I have a major problem, and I was wondering if anyone might know what I can do about it.
I've been using Paypal for quite a while--I just have a generic account. A couple of months ago, we had to cancel our debit cards because someone had put a couple of bogus charges on our account--along with a lot of other folks'. The bank had been investigating this activity and immediately got in touch with us when it hit our account. Anyways, that was all taken care of and we were issued new cards. When I tried to register my new number with Paypal, it was declined. I called my bank to make sure the card was activated, and was told that it was and my account was fine so there was no reason the card should've been rejected. So I tried Paypal a couple of more times, and each time I got a message saying that my billing address could not be verified! It is the same street address I have always had!! The last mesage I got said that I had one more chance to verify and if it did not go through then this card would not be accepted period.
Anyone have any idea what I should do? I emailed Paypal's customer service several hours ago, and have yet to hear from them.
This is so upsetting because my seller probably thinks I'm making the whole thing up.
Thank you for any advice!
I will be leaving the office shortly, but the problem can lie with how the issuing bank is releasing your address (for example, a billing statement shows second on the statement, but it is released as 2nd). This causes issues on the verification end.
I would check with their authorizations department. If they do not see an error, I can assist on Monday if you are not responded to over the weekend.

My mother had this problem and it was because the card company added the extra 3 numbers in the zip code. Paypal dose not make room for them so she had to have the bank remove them.

Thanks Damon and Tracy.
I still haven't received a reply to my email to Paypal, but I did call my bank again and the address they have is correct.
I also tried to register my husband's debit card--same account, different numbers. But I got the same thing about the address not being verified.
I'd really appreciate any assistance you could give, Damon. I'm afraid I'm on the verge of yanking my hair out! LOL!
Thanks!
