Hi Damon...I would appreciate some help with a problem I am having regarding Bidder Notification..
I received an email from PayPal today congratulating me for enrolling in PayPal's Winning Bidder Notification Service. Problem is , I never signed up for that and don't care to use that service.(don't eben KNOW what it is!)
It states that I can remove myself from this service by logging into paypal, going to the Profile subtab of my account page and then clicking on the Bidder Notification link on the left. Problem. There IS no Bidder Notification link on the left. How do I get out of this program? And the bigger quetion, is this a legitimate PayPal program? I am horrified at the thought that perhaps its a scam for someone to have my bidders send THEM money and not PayPal through a link.
Please advise as soon as possible!

Thank you!( I appreciate ANY and ALL help you can give me on this!!!!)
OC

Hi,

WBN (winning bidder notification) should be available in the middle of next week. Basically, it will send an email after auction close (for PayPal users) sending an email to the winning party advising that they can pay through PayPal.

The feature, last I checked, was not live.
I will check on the issue when I am in the office tomorrow.

Thank you so much Damon! Whew!
I feel better knowing its a legitimate Paypal service!
However, I am still not sure I want to use this service...do you know if there will be a "sample" invoice posted on site? That way we can get a look at it and see if we want to send it.
Thanks again
O.C.

Hi,

Yes. There will be a demonstration and there is also a way to turn it off.

Regards,
Damon

Hi,

This will be an opt-in feature and you will need to, if you decide not to use it, turn it off by going under the Profile on your account.

Basically, PayPal sellers can send an automatic email to their winning bidders advising them that they have the option of paying with PayPal.

Damon: Is that just for registered users of PayPal or all?? At this time the only COPIES of requests for payment that are being sent out are the ones that go to Reqgistered Users of PayPal.
