How can I adjust the shipping amount if an individual wants to purchase more than one item from my storefront? If a person purchases two items, the shipping would be $9 instead of $4.50.

Thanks for responding. I wanted to apply the $4.50 discount.
For instance, if a customer won an item from an auction and decided to purchase one or two additional items from my store, there would be an additional shipping charge for each item. Such a substantial charge would deter a person from buying additional merchandise from my store.

Ok, in that case you would go to My Account -> Global Preferences and set up shipping discounts for additional purchases. You can enter these as a dollar amount, if you used fixed shipping prices, or as a percentage if your shipping prices vary.
For this case, you might want to enter a shipping discount of 50% - that way your customer will pay $4.50 for the first item, and $2.25 for the subsequent items in an order.
If you have any trouble with this, please let us know.
