Hello,
Why are customers able to change the quantity in the checkout? It seems to me at first glance that they can change to a quantity greatly then available.
Also, if I put multiple numbers of the same item in the store front....it would be nice if I had the OPTION of that item showing up multiple times. I understand it wouldnt make make sense to do this if I had a qty of 100 but if I have 4 of same item it would be nice to have it listed 4 times.
I have not listed any store items yet because of the first concern that I have in dealing with the customer being able to change quantity at checkout. Am I mistaken about this concern?

Bigislandhiker:
Seems we both (and others in the past) have the same concern.
To me this is very serious as in my position I sell one-of-a-kind items that I normally only have one of. And my store quantity shows only one... therefore there should be only one available.
The quantity change that the customer can do should not be able to exceed the quantity available - ideally, at checkout, the customer should be able to SEE the number available in case they DO want to purchase more than one - then and only then should they be able to adjust the quantity desired for purchase.
In testing, I was able to select 100 quantity on an item I know that only has a quantity of 1 in my store. That can create a problem, especially if the person completes the checkout and sends payment. Then you have to go through the hassle of sending a refund for the other 99, requesting a refund from AW for the other 99 that you "sold" that never existed in the first place.
Serious problem.

Im not going to list any store items at this time. Until they fix this issue it just isnt worth the potential hassles it will create
Even though buyers can make the quantity a high number, if you don't have that number of items available it will not allow them to buy that much. What happens is when they try to confirm the order, they'll get a message saying how many are available and it prompts them back to a page in the store to change the quantity, or leave it at your max.
You can test this out yourself by putting one test item in your store, and trying to purchase a multiple of it.
