I tried masking my stroe name with a domain name that I already have and it won't let me do this because it says that it is not a complete address without the "WWW". Has anyone else had this problem? If so, do you know a solution or is it just not possible to mask a store domain?

I'm not having a problem with domain masking. Sounds like an issue with your domain service.
My website is www.retrobargains.com and my domain service (godaddy) forwards to what I set up, which is my store URL: http://shop.vendio.com/retrobargains
Sounds like you need to run this by your domain service.
