After only 2-3 years, I've gotten around to using Inventory Mgr in SM Pro. Am I to conclude that when I drop and drag an item from IM to a batch and launch, that if I had it in the "Western" folder in IM, it will wind up in "Western" when the auction is picked off Ebay? Or will the "store" just try to determine from the Bay data which category to put it in?
Also, if I want to put certain auctions in two categories in the store (like John Waynes in one category and repeat all his westerns in the "Western" category), do I treat it like two different items and have two distinct entries in IM for the same item, each in a different folder (if I have a folder for each category in the Store)?
I am assuming I have to create new listings for every item in Store inventory. I can't tell IM somehow to put the item in the Store?
This is a multiple question e-mail. Sorry.

The auction will go into the category it is set up to go in -- not the folder it is in in inventory. The folder it is in will have no impact on the item that launches.
I am a little confused on your second question. Are you listing auction items or store items? As you know, auction items do not get their own categories in your Vendio store -- they go into the eBay Auction Gallery.
You don't have to create a new listing for an item that is available in your inventory but set up for an auction. You can just have one -- when you drag and drop it to a new batch, you are prompted to pick the venue you wish to list in (your Vendio store will be an available venue).

I misled you. Speaking strictly of stores, not auctions.
I want to put The Searchers dvd in two store categories, uploading from Inventory Manager Pro. Do I need to have two entries in Inventory Manager and, in essence, treat them as two different items with two inventories?
If I make one entry in Inventory Manager for The Searchers and then upload it to two categories, will the total number available
be reduced in that one Inventory Manager entry as the DVDs are purchased from both categories? Or does purchasing have no effect on Inventory Manager as it can't synch? (I think I just answered by own question.)
Inventory Manager does not act as an inventory control? It just houses the items and doesn't know when stock is diminished?
And if not, then why doesn't the online inventory synch with Inventory Manager? What's the purpose of double entering in both places if I want to take advantage of stock control capabilities of online? I have to periodically copy the inventory into Inventory Manager? That makes me the Inventory Manager.
You can only file store items under one category. If you had two entries in Inventory and put them in the two different categories, it would act as if you had two of the item for sale. It is best to pick the one category you like better, or create a new one for two categories.
When you put an item from inventory to your store, the Quantity Available decreases by 1 and the Quantity in Store increases by one. You are running your store items out of inventory so it does do inventory control. If you made one entry for your DVD and then put it in two categories, inventory Quantity Available will decrease by two.
If you have any other questions about this please let me know.
