I have two separate store orders made by the same buyer, neither of them paid for. I'm trying to combine both of them and can't. Please let me know how to do this. I've done it before with auctions without any problems.

Hello planejane,

Auctions have not been through the checkout process yet, where storefront items have been once completed.

At this time, you cannot combine two completed storefront transactions. The buyer needs to use the option to keep shopping and add the other item at the same time, if they want to combine the two into one sale.

Christopher

Thanks Christopher, I wasn't aware that separate store purchase checkouts could not be combined.

I would like to suggest this functionality to bring it inline with the auctions, since the auctions themselves drive customers to the store. Also and important aspect is for the time period of combining store purchases to be limited and absolutely controlled by the store owner - we must decide on when the cutoff time to combine is, not Vendio or the customer. For example if I ship NLT 24 hours after payment is received, then I may want to restrict combining additional orders so that I can meet those timelines and still satisfy the customer's expectations. Especially if they pay instantly.

Setting it up like the auctions would be a step forward also, but keeping store sales where they cannot be combined just creates a lot of manual keystrokes for us sellers.

Regards,

Strange, I just combined two store purchases I guy did the other day apart. No problem whatsoever. I wonder what is up with that?

That is strange. Probably just an "undocumented feature".

And they said it couldn't be done... <grin>

Hey I'm loving my new website - I get to review TONS of stats everyday - from "where" the site visitors are coming from. And interestingly enough - none have come from Froogle.

But that's off-topic... kind of anyway; gotta have visitors in order to have sales that you can combine - so I guess it's on topic after all.

its on topic, its off topic, were all Coo coo for topics!

my storefront doesnt sell anything either, but I dont exactly list my big sellers there either, rather just some random odds and ends that arent really worth my time selling at auction and paying those fees for. is that your experience to?

My site hits are coming from Google, MSN, AOL, Web Ferret, and direct entry of my domain name which is shown on all of my emails and a few other places (such as this message thread).

I haven't posted any auctions for the last two months - this is intentional - I wanted to see how the store would do stand alone without auctions driving people to it. I'm actually tired of the prices FeeBay charges and I wanted something that stands on its own merit. Well, the current structure of the Vendio store doesn't allow the store to be "seen" on the internet - I've had to create my own website and advertise it on my own - and it's working now despite the inefficiencies found within the store's functionality.

To answer your question, no, my store contains my primary items for sale, not seconds, non-sellers or auction failures. My intent is to drive traffic to my store. Later on I may take some of my slow sellers and place at auction - but that may or may not develop.

Call me a rebel, but in my mind (and business plan) auctions are secondary with store sales as primary. Now, if we can just get Vendio to pay attention to the stores and upgrade the store functions like they have so long ago promised, we would all be in better shape.

Greg: What are you using at GoDad to do this tracking? and did you ever invest in their other deal to get you in search engines?

Hi Beth,
The stats for the website come with their WebSite Complete after it's published. I'll send you the details in email.

No I haven't purchased the Trail Blazer as of yet - but plan to soon.

Dodobird:

I appreciate your insights; I have never considered myself anyone's hero. Far from it. Just color me as one who won't sit around hoping that someone else will bring up the problems and issues that are affecting me.

Nothing is ever accomplished from remaining silent and sitting on your hands. I subscribe to an old adage: "If it is to be, then it is up to me."

Basically no one else cares about what anyone else's concerns are... period. They may imply that they are interested, but they are either in sales, politics or psychoanalysis. (Or they wish they were.) There's nothing wrong with those fields either - we just have to look out for our own needs. If it helps someone else in its residual wake then that's great too.

If you split the store orders using edit buyer you can recombine them all into one order.
