I just had a customer call me and tell me that, while trying to checkout with a purchase, she continously got an error message.
I'm glad that she called me, since I was able to make the sale by telephone. But, a lot of customers wouldn't go to that much trouble.
Is there anyway for to test the checkout in my store?
You can set up a transaction and pay for it, using a different email address, to see how the transaction goes. If you get charged for it you may request a refund. Did your customer tell you what error she got?

Thank you for your response Sonjia.
The customer told me that she would fill out the information, select to pay via paypal and click next....then get an error message. She was not specific as to the exact error message.
I will go to my store, make a purchase, checkout then see what happens.

Thanks, please keep us informed of your findings. Keep in mind that there are customers you'll have that think they're doing something right and then make a minor mistake along the way without knowing it. We just have to eliminate this possibility and go forward.
Best Regards,

Darin, Sonja...I set up a store item for $.01 (so that I didn't have to go thru the refund thing). I didn't have ONE problem going thru the checkout. I suppose that the buyer was not filling out all of the information correctly.
I'm kinda glad that I did it, because now I have seen the process that my customers go thru to checkout. Really, a very easy process.
Thanks so much for both of your responses and quick helpfulness

mstwostepin or Sonya,
When you made the test purchase, did you get an email confirmation that the order was received or is the payment confirmation from PayPal the only thing the customer receives?

I received a confirmation from Vendio that a purchase had been made in my store and giving me all of the pertinent information on the item/purchaser.
Once I had made the purchase, and selected Paypal as my payment options, I was sent to the paypal site to make payment.

Thanks, but I was wondering what my customer gets. When you made the purchase, did you as the customer get an order confirmation?

Yes, I did receive a confirmation email (as a customer), much like the email that I receive to let me know that an order has been placed in my store.
