For example you have only the quantity of 2 of the same item and they order 4 of this same item. What happens during check out? Do they pay for 4 of these items with some kind of message saying something about not having but 2 items in stock or what. Or just pay for the 2 and says sorry for not having more?

Hello,
If they try to go through checkout with a quantity higher than what you have for sale, they will get an error telling them that quantity isn't available and they have to choose another quantity. The system will not let them check out with a higher quantity if it isn't available.
