Ok, I'm new to Vendio haveing jumped ship from elsewhere... and I'm not quite understanding your domain information.
I was informed I could use my domain and yet host on Vendio.... the directions talk about hosting on my own server and installing a hosting program.
I would like to just change the pointing of my domain K-products.us to my store on vendio.... all I need is an IP address to point to it. There is nothing to install to re-point the domain.
So how or where do I get the IP to point?
Also, I am presuming my store name can be the same as my domain and not my UserName correct?

I received an answer from Customer Help on this process... it is called "Redirecting" and is very simple to do. I currently am having my provider give me the steps for their particular server.
You log in as administrator in your domain, under the domain redirect/domain forward option you just enter you Vendio store URL as the landing page and your done.
Thought I would share this just in case anyone wanted to know too.

Hello,

Your store name many be different from your user name.

While it is possible to do a redirect from your domain to your Vendio Store, it is not recommended. There are various problems that it can cause, including (in some cases) your buyers getting a message that the checkout is not secure. It is highly recommended that you following the installation instructions in order to install the Vendio Store on your domain.

Regards,
Nathan

I too recently "jumped ship from somewhere else" and am trying to bring my domain name with me to use with the Vendio store.

Being tech challenged I need a little clarification.

I now have control of my own domain name at ecom and have the ability to change the dns to the site I want to use to host my store.

Is this "domain forwarding?" and more to the point, will this also interfere with the check out process of my vendio store.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks

Hello,

You do not need to change the DNS, unless your changing where your hosting the site.
What you will need is at least a minimum of webhosting space in order to do the domain forwarding.

The bare minimum of space is all you need in order to get started. If you wanted to you could move the domain to a new hosting company, but if you have hosting available with your current website domain manager (registrar) - just see if they have a basic minimal webhosting package you can use. This shouldn't run more than a few $$'s a month really.

Vendio has one also called our Mini plan for $3.95 a month, which you can sign up for here: http://vendioweb.com/

Regards,
Chris

Hi:
Well, this is just a follow up...I was able to install the file as directed from Vendio.... Works like a charm.
I did change from a "re-direct" to the file installation... If I did not have a paid service for the next 3 years - I would take you up on the $3.95 hosting deal.
I must admit, I have NEVER received assistance like this from the "other place" and so very detailed.
Keep it up Vendio.... I'm glad to have made the move.
