Hi all. Having "fun" getting payments set up in my new store. I have tried getting Google Payments set up - have done all the steps. On placing an item in my cart there is a Google checkout icon but it is grayed out with the message "Google checkout not available for this item".
I have Google enabled, with the API Callback configured according to instructions and my Google Merchant ID and Merchant key in the item preferences.
I sent a query to support yesterday. They said as far as it goes everything is set up right but there are the three items below mentioned the must be correctly configured. Only I am having trouble figuring out what correct configuration entails.
Quoting from support:
"The steps followed by you, as mentioned in your email, are correct. However, Google Checkout will not work if....
1. You have selected 'International Shipping' (only 'Domestic Shipping' accepted by Google Checkout).
2. You cannot use Google Checkout for 'Explicit Items'.
3. In order to use Google Checkout, Credit Cards should be the only preferred payment. "
- end snippet quote
1) okay, I disabled international shipping in the shipping profile.
2) What's an "Explicit item"? Don't think I have any but that, i reckon, depends on my even understanding this term.
3)Does this mean I can't use PayPal? And when I am in the payment profile configuration do I enable a "Custom" type payment with a label entered as Google?
If I select a CC type (VISA, MC, etc) I only get the option to add an account (in a popup) and the only two options are AuthNet or PayFlo Pro.
So if I have the type set to Custom with the label saying "Google" and no other payment type enabled, I STILL get the grayed out Google Payments icon when I put an item in my cart.

Hello Mark,
I checked the item in your account and im sure it isn't what Google would consider explicit, but did see what is likely causing them to not offfer their checkout service for this item - insurance.
Unfortunately google checkout does not yet support the option of charging insurance for shipping. If you change the insurance option for this item to 'included in Shipping and Handling' and then pad it into the cost of shipping or switch to 'not offered' the GC banner should then appear.
