First, thank you for the great free e-commerce platform. It helps us a lot as a small artisan studio.
I have my own domain and setup the shop with it. When I try to distribute my products to Google Product Search however, it keeps saying the URLs are mismatched. I noticed that the URLs in the file are started with sell.vendio.com, while my own URL is creartiveshop.com. Also, I cannot find a way to download the file generated by Vendio, so I can modify it manually and upload it to Google Base? Please, could you check?
I am having problem also with the Google Checkout. I have checked the Google Terms of Service and even contact a staff @ Google Checkout to ensure, that my items are eligible for Google Checkout. They suggested me to contact you for this issue.

Hello,
Could you please confirm the URL that you have entered into your Google account, and also the exact text of the error message that you are receiving (so that we can ask our engineers to take a look)?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to download the Google feed from your Vendio account and modify it for upload.
I have escalated the problem with the Google Checkout button being grayed out, and we will let you know as soon as we hear back from our engineers on this. Thank you for your patience.
The domain entered is: http://www.creartiveshop.com/. The error message is: The domain of your item URL doesn't match the registered domain in your account.
Examples:Item Nr. Line Nr. Value
10 11 http://sell.vendio.com/locateChannelItem?cid=35029474&lid=1050360&channelID=31&sfID=886140
25 26 http://sell.vendio.com/locateChannelItem?cid=35029474&lid=1079158&channelID=31&sfID=886140
The shop's site is http://www.creartiveshop.com. You can see the grayed "Google Checkout" button there.

Hello,
I have heard back from our engineers on the problem with the Google Checkout button being grayed out (I have not yet heard back about the URL mismatch problem, but I will let you know as soon as I hear from them on this). The problem is that Google Checkout can only work with items that are being shipped from a US location. As your items are currently setup with a non-US location, it is not possible to use the Google Checkout. You would need to change your shipping profiles to a US location in order to do so.

Hello,
No solutions have been provided yet for the mismatched URL issue reported, and we will post back to this thread as soon as new information becomes available.
Thank you for your reply. Could you please provide some kind of work-around for the problem? I can think of one, where the generated txt file can be saved somewhere, so I can download and modify it for submitting manually to Google?

Hello,
We have heard back from our engineers on the URL problem, and they have advised that in order to correct the problem you will need to change your URL in Google to:
http://sell.vendio.com
Please make this change and let us know should you continue to have trouble with this.
I have heard back from our engineers, and they are continuing to look into this. However, in the meantime you should be able to work around the problem by using the following URL (that is specific to your Store only):
Changing the URL in Google Base with the given by you make the submission works. However, the main problem remains: it does not work with my main URL, which is creartiveshop.com.
Could you please tell if there are any new updates on the matter? Thank you very much.
No changes have been made as of yet to allow you to use your regular domain name at Google base with the products being fed from the sell.vendio.com system.
The engineers are looking into ways of offering this, but with both the current system google has in place and the one they will be shortly switching to there may be some disadvantages to setting it up that way Vs how it is now (though we plan to implement a system for creating a much cleaner URL than the one you ended up using, but to gain the same result.)
In short it may be possible to use just your regular domain name, though you may lose out on some yet to be released SEO reporting functionality and could also leave the door open where changes to the URL at Google base or within your Vendio account details would cause a mismatch and force your feed to fail again. (which would be avoided using the sell.vendio domain as it would always redirect to the currently stored domain info you have on file in your Vendio account. Though the SEO report would be more likely to be the feature most missed in this setup to which there are no known advantages.)

If anyone figures out how to upload items to google base, please let me know.
I, too, am used to the system whereby you download a file and then upload it to google base.
However, that is not done here. The FTP thing I have tried and tried for two days. I followed the instructions to a t -- and it really didn't seem difficult. But nothing has been uploaded despite so many efforts even trying to delete the account and start over on google base. The error message here when i went to put in my password was that it was invalid. How the heck is vendio going to tell me my google base ftp password and file name is invalid? they need to take what i have creatd and put in.
I have given up.
If you figure out how to do this, please let me know. If I could just get a few of my top items up to google base, I just know I would be in good shape. I have not sold one thing from my vendio store and ebay's fees, if they don't get you one way, they'll get you another.

Hello Ginaphototwo,
Please follow the link in the email message that Google is sending you about the feed not going through, and then provide us with the exact text of the failure reason, so that we can take a look.

In the interim you could create a tab delimited spreadsheet listing your top items. Then upload it manually to Google. Word of caution, Google is very picky about the format, such as you can't have spaces, or backslashes or dashes in the URL. Spaces have to be entered as %20. It's a long annoying process, but it gets them online.

hello again
Has anyone uploaded items to google merchant center? (we used to use google base but that's for services now).
I have been trying now for several weeks. I deleted my account and started over. Went through the entire ftp process and disbursed. The problem I ran into is if I changed my user name and ftp passwored, and would try to imput those into the area on vendio, I would get a message that it was the wrong password. This has been a big holdup, having to ask vendio please clear that out.
I am just curious has anyone had any success with google base/merchant center?
thanks
gma

hello
No, not thus far as I have not tried to change it since re-doing everything from scratch.
However, I do not see that my eight items have uploaded.
