I have a Vendio Store: http://shop.vendio.com/Postmaster But I don't see access to utilizing the various templates and other options such as "Stores" --> "Template Editor" --> "Advanced" --> "Enable Advanced Mode" --> select "Edit HTML" -->, etc. I only have the basic options of Properties and Categories changes. Where do I need to look to find more options to make substantial changes to my Store including selecting the various templates to apply to my Store?
Thanks.....

Hello Lewis,
Unfortunately, these options are currently only available with the new version of our services. In order to get the new version of our services you would need to open a new Vendio account with a new user name.

Where is that information on the Vendio website? I'd like to review the ramifications of that move. Can I duplicate or move the "old" account data to the new account?

Hello Lewis,
Unfortunately, it is not possible to automatically transfer the data from the current account to a new account. You would need to do this manually. In effect, you would unfortunately be starting over from scratch.

Would we be having this conversation if I had already had the new format? I mean it in this way: What attributes that I am already familiar with (I've been with "AuctionWatch" since the stone ages) will I be familiar with on the new platform? Would we still have the same Community Forums that we are now using?
I think you see what I'm asking. If I have to start with an entirely new learning curve then that could affect the decision to "move up". Is there a "comparison chart" or something that would make this clearer without my having to bother the fine folks in the Community Forums?

I'll clarify the above a bit: My main uses of Vendio now are 1. image hosting, and 2. post sale management. I can keep all my image files? My after sale process remains the same for the most part?

Hello,
You will still have access to the community forums with the other format. The best thing to do now would be to register an account with a new username so you can take a look first hand - simply signup for a trial of it so you can see what it's like. The processes and menu's are completely different.
If most everything you list is one of a kind items that you don't need inventory tracking on - the Sales Manager Merchandising Edition and Sales Manager Pro programs are probably the best solutions for you in terms of speed and ease of use (primarily because of your familiarity with them already.)
The only reason I would change platforms currently, based on your stated desires, is for the new store system available on the other platform.
There are some manual methods using CSV files (exporting from one and importing to the other) that will help move your images and inventory over, so you don't have to completely start from scratch.
The post sale process is the same in that the steps you take are the same, but what you see on the screen is completely different (in terms of the verbage/design/layout.)
Regards,
Chris

So, I could run two Vendio sites under different usernames? Can I work with both sites from the main Vendio log-in? There would be two separate image files? Does this image URL change: "http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/imageserver.x/00000000/USERNAME/.mids/FILENAME.jpg"? I have links to my images in fixed formats that can't easily be modified. Is the new username locked in or can it be changed if needed to reflect the market place choice changes and website redirect? If I decide to do a trial run should I pick sign-in and username as the final ones?

Hello,
You would have to have two completely different user names, which would be two completely different Vendio accounts. Each account would have its own login information. Each account would have its own image URLs, which would be different image URLs from the other account. When you open the new account you should pick the user name that you would want to use with the account in the future.

Okay. I now have a new Vendio Store named "Lewis_Burchett".
1. I have inventory that needs to be moved to the new store.
2. I have images that need to be moved.
You've stated that this will have to be done manually? Are the CSV fields compatible so that re-jiggering the format will be easy?
Seems like Vendio would provide some widgets to do this easily!! Surely I am not the first person to have made this transition (sorry for calling you Shirley).
I need some direction and help rather than flailing about with this transition. I have received less than exuberant encouragement so far.
3. I cannot remain logged in to BOTH Vendio accounts simultaneously! I need to do work on both accounts (trying to run a business here) and need to have browser windows/tabs open with both accounts.
What now?

Hello,
We have enabled an option in your "Postmaster" account to export your inventory via .csv file. This option can be located by going to "Sales Manager" --> "Inventory" --> "CSV Export" --> be sure to select "Vendio Platform" for "Format". This file can then be used to import some of the data into the new account. Please be aware that while this will import some of the inventory data, it is unfortunately not possible to transfer all of the data, and the resulting inventory items will need to be edited manually to enter any other data that you need. This is the only data that can be transferred without being manually entered into the new account, unfortunately.
In order to be logged in to both accounts at once, you will need to use two different browsers. For example, you can be signed in to one account with Internet Explorer while you are signed into the other account with Mozilla Firefox.
Regards,
Nathan
