I've noticed that there is an option to make an item oversell, but I can't seem to be able to do this when making a new order (as opposed to a customer ordering online himself). Since many of the items I sell can be made on-demand (and often are right now), this is a somewhat needed function. My workaround right now is just to place an order on my own website (rather than use "New Order" from the item screen) and put in customer info as if I'm that person.
Just to clarify, your specifically looking to use the 'create order' option on an item that you have quantity available of zero on?
Your not having trouble creating a manual order for items in stock, just items setup to 'always allow overselling' when the current quantity available number is zero?

Correct, on both counts. If I use "Create Order" with anything having a quantity greater than zero, it works fine. I just get an error message saying, "The following items could not be added to the order as they have no quantity available." Then a list of any items I had selected that were qty. 0 in stock.

I'm also noticing a different problem, but still relating to items. In particular, I have store categories. I have a category called "Candle-Making Supplies" and (in my store) the qty in parentheses is 1, but I have sub-categories within that that come out to a qty. of 2. Additionally, if I click the parent category, it only shows one of the two items, but displays the child categories correctly when I click on them. Granted, I haven't added more items to these categories yet, so maybe it doesn't work and I just don't know it.

The system is setup to block adding items to orders when the quantity available is zero, though we have asked the engineers to try and setup support for it when 'always allow overselling' is enabled.
The store category quantity issue is related to the item in the subcategory of the subcategory not being counted in the total unfortunately. This is something the engineers are aware of and working to correct.
