This could be related to a setting in Internet Explorer, as you mentioned. Go to the Tools menu in IE and either select or disable the 'compatibility view' option that you see here, then try it again.
If you haven't ran into this before while working within IE (if this is your regular browser) - try first clearing out the temp files from the Tools menu. If that doesn't help, restart the browser and then the whole computer and try again. It could be a plug-in or toolbar add-on as well, but try the basics first to see if that helps.
