I am trying to setup my store but I am really hung up on the shipping part. I have gone into preferences and used the profiles to the best of my knowledge but it charges shipping for every different item in the cart.
If I add 10 of a exact same item I can get it to charge the correct flat rate charge. If I add 1 different item to that 10 items it will now charge twice as much. If I add 9 more, so its 10 and 10 of each item, it still does twice as much. Now if I have 10 and 10 and then add 1 more different item it will change 3x as much as it should.
How can I get those 21 items to ship for 1 single flat rate fee?
Do you mean that you always want every order to have the same shipping charge, regardless of how many items are in the order? If not, please let us know. If so, please edit your global shipping preferences by going to "Preferences" (at the top right of most pages in your Vendio account) --> then select "Orders" from the drop-down box at the top of the page. Then scroll down to the "Combined Shipping Discounts" section and check the box for "Fixed Discount". Then enter "100" and select "percent" for the "off the shipping cost of each item" section. Be sure to leave the box checked for "Charge the normal shipping rate for the item with the highest shipping cost". Please let us know should you continue to have trouble with this.

I would like it to charge actual shipping.
If two items can fit in a small flat rate box, I would like it to charge a small flat rate box fee.
Right now, if I buy a u joint that is greaseable it is $6 to ship. If I add another, it is still $6 to ship (correct). However, if I have one that is greaseable and one that is NON greaseable it wants $12 to ship. They should still only be $6 to ship no matter the type.
I went into preferences and changed it to 100%. It still only applies those preferences to items of the exact kind. As soon as you add something in that is a bit different it charges shipping individually for each type of item I put in.
Could you please let us know one of the specific order numbers where the shipping was incorrect, and how it should have been charged, so that we can take a closer look at the settings for the items in the order?
Thank you for your reply and the additional information. I apologize for the confusion. The "Per Additional Item" field in the shipping profiles will only apply to multiple quantities of the exact same item in an order.
The global shipping preferences, however, should apply regardless of the items in the order. I checked your order "2006929840", and I do see that only $6.00 was charged for shipping (as per your global shipping preferences). I also created a test order of the same items, which also charged only $6.00 for shipping. In order to see this please go to "Orders" --> "Sold Items" and click on the "Details" button for your order "2006929840".
It is true that in the "Items in this Order" section $6.00 shows up for each item. However, please scroll down to the "Total Price Calculation" section and you will notice that in addition to $12.00 showing for "Shipping", there is also $6.00 showing for "Shipping Discount". This gives a total charge of $6.00 for shipping. The order includes $55.00 for the non-greaseable item, $59.00 for the greaseable item, $6.00 for shipping, and $8.64 for tax (for a total of $128.64).
Please take a look and let us know should you need further assistance.

Ok, great. Thanks.
Is there anyway to put a note in the checkout area stating that there is a shipping discount? Or better yet, is there a way to have it show that it is charging the correct amount next to the items?
I am afraid that most if not all will make the same mistake that I did and not see the discount and decide not to continue with the purchase.
It is not possible to do this, unfortunately. However, you can add this information to your items themselves if you like. One place where you could enter it is into the "Shipping Policy" box of the shipping profiles that you are using.

That is one of my biggest issues with this platform is the way shipping is displayed.
If shipping is $9 and someone orders 5 items the box towards the top of the checkout page is going to show a $45 shipping fee, they will not see the discount until they scroll down.
I wouldst, I would just leave the page, I am certain other customers feel the same way.

Has anything changed with this yet? I'm setting up my store now, and am seeing the same problem with charging shipping for every single item. You have to scroll down to see the actual shipping price at the end, but many people, (including myself) would see the shipping total at the top of the invoice page, and exit out, or arrow back to see what the problem was.
I'm hoping you've been able to change this since your last comments, as I am super concerned about this. It isn't going to look very professional if I have to comment on my webstore about programming quirks...
