I am looking to expand my suppliers. Does anyone know of any good drop shippers that dont charge memberships or have huge minimum orders. I have found hotbuy4u.com and valudealz.com, but i need more. Any suggestions?

CD, Have you found anything out there thus far? I was also looking and it is pretty difficult. I realize no one wants to give up their little secrets, but maybe someone else may throw a bone. I went so far as to go to the local stores and try to get their info as well. Apparently EBAY is huge! Who knew!!! LOL

What type of merchandise are you interested in? I am interested into expanding to drop shipping. I already have a wholesale program where I sell to gift shops and several people with web sites. If you would like to discuss this in private please email me at [email protected]. I have been selling under user name marciaroden on eBay for about 18 months and have a feedback of over 500.

I may take some heat from some people for this but i don't want others to get taken.

Unless you are a registered business, you are NOT going to get true wholesale prices. No REAL wholesaler is going to offer true wholesale prices to any old Joe. A real wholesaler will require you to have a state resale certificate. If they don't ask for one, they aren't the real thing. Many of these so-called 'wholesalers' are really middle men who post slightly elevated prices in order to make a profit and then order from THEIR real wholesaler when you place an order.

Becoming a real business is not that hard and it's SO worth it as you'll work with a much better class of people and REAL wholesalers. I strongly recommend this site:

http://www.mydssd.com

They have a huge directory of REAL wholesalers who will also drop ship for you. The site also has excellent advice and resources. EVERYONE should take a look at it. This information is a must read. No, i am not profiting from this. I just hate to see people get ripped off.

This is in response to the previous message about drop-shippers. SOME OF US WHO HAVE SMALL COMPANIES JUST STARTING OUT HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO BE A "MIDDLEMAN". We are not all out to cheat people. I love what I do and have no intention of cheating people out of money. And some of these drop shipping companies want you to be a PAID member so how are other small businesses starting out going to get their "foot in the door" if they have to pay a large subscription fee for drop-shipping? I understand that there are some people and companies who do inflate prices to outrageous lengths, but not all of us. I checked that site and it includes only large factories, manufactures and other large companies. We need to support small businesses too! Also, there are many products out there and us "middlemen" may have different products than what these large companies have! I understand that "iliachas" is looking out for us, but it makes the honest people and companies look bad too!

Did you even bother looking at the URL i posted?

It states plainly on the site, 'a REAL dropshipper does not charge membership fees or require a minimum order.' Some do have a dropship charge but considering they serve as your personal post office and you don't have to do your own shipping or buy your own packing supplies, it's not unreasonable.

I was not insinuating that YOU were ripping people off. But if you are saying 'wholesale' on your site you are misrepresenting yourself. If people for whatever reason don't want or can't become a registered business, that's fine, there's definitely a need for middlemen. Just don't be dishonest about it..not that i'm implying you are.

As i said before, registering a business is not that difficult. A Limited Liability Company costs $50 to register where i live, and $5 to get a state resale certificate. You don't need to be business savvy, you don't need great credit, you don't even need to have that much of an education. And having those two little pieces of paper opens a LOT of doors. You will also be able to have a much better profit margin, because you won't be paying an inflated pice through a middleman.

I wasn't trying to judge anyone, just stating the facts. Getting legal will increase your profits significantly. If anyone needs help figuring out how to get set up to become a business i'll be happy to help.

The Drop Ship Source Directory costs money to access the wholesalers, but it is good for one year, the list is constantly updated, and you can email the maintainers day or ngiht with ANY question about the site or business in general and they will respond promptly. This is not one of those cheap scam lists you'd buy off eBay. I use it myself and have had great success with it.

Even if you don't purchase access to the directory, read the free information on the site..it'll do you a lot of good.

I agree, where I live it cost 25$ to register sole business, state and federal id was free, did them over the phone. Just need to pay for 2 weeks in legal section of newspaper in the county where I live. If they have business ideas they should work on a business plan so they can get grants. The funds are available and people help with writing up the plans and can possibly find grant writers for free.

I don't think 100$ the first year and 40$ a year after that is expensive for endless opportunities. Those are operating expenses. Besides that, having larger companies as business references makes the opportunities even greater. And if they want to legally resell in the state where they live if that state charges sales tax they DO need a state id or use tax id. I know I would not want to be audited by the IRS for something so simple to get.

You don't even really need to seek a grant..you can just do what i do, work from home. My home is my office. This may not work for everyone depending where you live, as there are zoning ordinances. But in most cases if you are not going to stock products in your home or have customers come to the house the government doesn't mind. Internet retail has opened a lot of doors to the every day person.

I just use the equipment i already have..only thing that's changed is i got a business checking account (which is also not that hard to get once you're a real business)and a few small things like files to put documentation in, small office supplies, and the like.

Most business accounts can be opened for $200 where i live. It's not impossible to start on a very limited budget. You just have to build more slowly at first, as i have. It just takes patience.

I got a little "bent out of shape" because the way the earlier message was posted it sounded like (to me anyway) that unless you are an established company, no one should trust you.

I am in the process of getting my license. I have had the paperwork filled out for awhile, but haven't gotten around to finalizing it yet.

For me, the license and sales cert. only costs $20.

As for dropshippers for those who don't want to dabble in a registered business, dropshipper.net and hotbuy4u.com both ship promptly and the items usually get to your customers quick. I've used them both before i started a business and never had a problem with them.

Dropshipper.net costs money to join though and to be honest i think their products are for the most part outdated and/or cheesy and i never had much luck selling them. I did much better with hotbuy4u.
