Hi, I had to give you my suggestion. Ask around. See if you have any friends that work at a plant or someplace where they have packages coming in. All packing materials are thrown away and most are just as good as new. My neighbor works for a company 2 days a week and brings me alot of the packing materials. I have more than I will ever use. And best of all it is free.

look in your phone book for moving, shipping.
I called a company in our little town, looking for a moving company. it was, in fact, a shipping supply company. I was able to buye peanuts for $1.00 a cubic foot, as long as I wanted to buy 20 cubic foot at a time. They also sold bubble wrap by the pallet full, cheap.

I don't know how much you ship, but recycle. Here's what I recycle: plastic from the cleaners -- yes! it makes good packing stuffing.
If someone sends me a package in a padded envelope I keep it and relabel it.

If I am double boxing, I sometimes use plastic grocery bags as padding between the two boxes. they won't shift the way peanuts do and make a great buffer.

Cheap Sources=Dumpster Diving!
and don't turn up your nose, most Ebayers have been there!
Florists are a great source for 'peanuts' as they recieve the vases buried in the stuff.
I use that very thin 'white foam wrap stuff' rather than bubble wrap. At the lumber yard I discovered that it was the same as used for laminate flooring under cusion.
As such It is very cheap Comes 40" wide and has 300 sq ft to the roll and sells about $9.00 or so range. Cuts great with box knife.
It is also non slipping by nature and great padding. Large voids I then use crumpled newspaper wadds.
Pharmacies are about the greatest source for small boxes. Check the dumpster at their back door.

Clean the kids' rooms. You'll find paper bags, plastic bags, lunch bags, plastic wrap from new clothes, newspapers, and magazines along with new clothes with tags you can sell because they've been buried so long they didn't know they were there.
Just kidding....

Ive mentioned this before and some folks mentioned it here too. Save yourself some money and use plastic bags from the grocery store and newspaper. Ask all your friends and family to save those for you and you will an unlimited supply before you know it!

I am a salesperson and manager at a packaging company. Look in your local phone book or big city book if in small town. Find a listing under boxes. Find a dist or manu and check several. Most manuf have overruns and "mistakes" for sale for pennies on the dollar. Always mention that you are getting quotes from the competitor and they will sharpen their pencils. We all know we get free priority boxes, tape & labels at usps.com packaging distributors ALWAYS have excess stock in bubble, mailers or some other item that a new salesman screwed up on. Ask about closeout lists. SAVE A BUNDLE!

My main product supplier could not fill a dumpster to save his life.
He uses a paper shredder and every newspaper, magazine, catalog, flyer etc etc gets shredded and used as packing material to ship my products to me. For all I know he probably brings in his junk mail and shreds that too lol.
Odd card board pieces, damaged boxes get cut into chunks and are used as dividers .
He has a large operation and has never once sent a single piece of popcorn, or shipped anything in a new box.
If he didn't supply me with so much shredded paper I'd invest in a shredder myself.
The paper magazines and catalogs are made from aren't really recyclable but shredded they are reused.
