Did you know that Target will give schools one percent of all your purchases made with their credit or gift card? Our school could use your help! If you do not already give your Target dollars away, please click on this link and designate our school. You will help our children without any effort! And you can check to see how we are doing.

Kmart stores have a program called "Kmart School Spirit". When you enroll at Kmart, you will receive School Spirit Cards for you to use every time you shop. Every time a card is presented with a purchase at a Kmart cash register, Kmart will accumulate a contribution for your school based on a portion of the eligible purchase. You'll start earning cash for your school right away!
The above verbiage was taken directly from Kmart website:

I don't know if Gordon Food Service stores are nation wide - they are a bulk food supplier here in Michigan. You sign up for a "fun funds" card and, like the K-Mart school spirit card, a percentage of your purchase of "fun funds foods" (foods specifically marked for inclusion in the fun funds program) gets donated to the school of your choice.
Another great fund raiser is the Scrip program, whereby you pre-buy gift certificates and participating merchants donate a percentage of the face value of the gift certificate to the school. If you are not familiar with this program, please check out website http://www.glscrip.com. The beauty of this fund raiser is that it does not cost the parents any additional monies - you use your existing shopping habits, and with a little pre-planning, can earn money for your school without spending extra dollars.
One program I started at my son`s preschool was a plastic grocery bag recycling program - families collect clean plastic grocery bags from participating stores, send them to a company called Enviro-Bag, who recycles the bags into garbage bags which are then stocked on the shelves of the participating stores. The schools can earn up to $1.00 per pound of clean plastic bags. To learn more about this program, check out website http://www.envirobag.com. It`s a great way to teach the kids about recycling and earning money for the school at the same time.

Findingtreasures4u, the Scrip program has been a big money maker for my son's elementary school PTO. The school raised a total of $22,500 in three years (1998-2001) via this fund raiser! The PTO president (well, she was vice president then, but she's president now) worked with the city to do a dollar-for-dollar match of funds, to provide monies for new play ground equipment - she approached the city stating this part of the city did not have a community playground. The city matched the $7500 for each of the three years - the school now has over $45,000 worth of new play ground equipment! If your community doesn't have a neighborhood playground in the vicinity of your child's school, perhaps the PTO could approach city officials and ask about doing a matching contribution type thing. It's definitely worth checking into!
This year monies from the Scrip program will allow the school to purchase a portable science cart for science related lessons and a weather station to allow students to learn all about weather. The target goal for the Scrip program this year is $4500 - the gal coordinating the program hasn't updated the bulletin board with the running total lately, but I know the school has raised over $2500 so far.
My family uses Scrip to purchase groceries, dine out at restaurants, pay for gas via gas cards. We even give them as gifts - birthdays, weddings, etc. I'm already starting to stock up on Scrip to use over the summer - last year I purchased several thousand dollars at the end of the school year (my son was in preschool then and they participated in this fundraiser too!) and I ran out half-way through the summer.
