There was an error with the popup ad that was running on our site.
It was just disabled until the error can be corrected.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and if any other information is available on this issue it will be posted back to this thread in this forum.

Apparently, until you end your browser session with AW, this pop-up will continue to appear - even after what ever engineering has done to disable it.
At least that's how it has affected my computer system.

thanks kahml. I just read Christophers post above and thought, hmmm, no. pop-up is still there in determining force. I closed it at least 10 times in the last 15 minutes. Whenever it pops up, it makes my screen flash and disrupts what I am typing- I have to re-click where I was typing to continue. is that happening to anyone else, or do i have a gremlin?

Christopher,
I logged off of AW, Got offline, Closed my browser. Then started browser again, logged back online, logged back onto AW. And I still have the Pop ups.
Anymore suggestions?

Sorry Christopher, didn't work. Still popping up. Ya know, I was just looking up and down the left edge of my AM page and noticed the 'pleasant' stamps.com ad. Nice, good size, readable- something I would click on if I were going to go that route for stamps. I also noticed that there is much more room for more ads...ads that would be accessable yet less intrusive than the pop-ups. Doesn't it seem evident that AW users are more than irked every time they pop up and interfere? I would probably be pretty close if I were to say that many people wouldn't click on a site that annoyed them(?), hence that ad being pulled by a site for lack of business(?) I would think that the AW ad sales staff would be pushing ads that generate business for the advertiser- not hostility!
Count me in on NEVER using any business with annoying pop-ups. Ads that are along the edges are the only businesses that I would ever click on- they allow me to make the cloice to view their business instead of stuffing it down our throats.

Yeah, I thought that it worked.
It seemed to - but then I started building an auction to launch this evening and the darn things are back - and now with a vengeance.
They are showing up at least once every other minute.
Better luck next time.
's funny though. I am a little cranked at this, and feel like saying: "I'm not going to use AW until you fix this!" Which means it could be a long time before I come back here.
However, with 15 auctions pending and 50 just closed, I've got too much invested in the automated PSM to stay away.

Get a program such as POP-UP STOPPER and prevent unwanted intrusions into your home or workplace. Now if there was a similar way to deal with telemarketers.

Have tried popup stopper from zdnet.com and also ismasher from tucows.com and neither one will kill these critters. Am logged on thru AOL, would that make a difference????

AW I guess you can stop pop up ads, but choose not do so as it boosts your revenue. Please do not click on pop up ads.

Well, they are NOT shut off. Since I logged on about 30 minutes ago, my PopUp Killer program has zapped about 35-40 pop-ups! They pepper me at a rate of 5 - 10 ads per attack, and since I have my speakers on at the moment, it sounds like I'm sitting in a battle zone (boom! boom! boom! boom! boom!...)
