Could you please describe the process in Customer Manager for forwarding an incoming email? I have received a suspected bogus email and ebay will only receive it if it was forwarded from within the receiving email progam. I tried to send copies of the content and header via my private email program, but they evidentally can't accept it that way. Thanks.

You can hit reply and then edit the CC or TO fields.

Thanks Darin. Not ideal, but that'll work better than nothing.

Hi. Sorry Darin--no go. In order for ebay to acknowledge the email it must be received via a forwarding mechanism of the receiving email program. Sending a copy in the TO field was rejected. Please read the reply I got from ebay that is in now sitting in my current CM inbox titled "ALERT: your email was not received by ebay...etc." Please read the content and give me the instructions on how to forward this email correctly to ebay from CM. Thanks.

I looked at it. Interesting.

We don't actually offer a direct forwarding function for our CM service right now. We're looking at making it more robust in the future. For now, I think you can get around the messsage details by following my instructions in the first email...but ALSO, making sure to edit the Subject line to Fwd: instead of Re:

That was it will appear to be forwarded?

Also, if this doesn't work, write Ebay support. Get a live person to tell you their accepted work around for people with limited email apps and redirecting services. They've had to encounter this problem before.

Then get back to me.

Best Regards,

Thanks Darin.

I am writing back because I have already followed instructions given in your first email.

Other full service email and webmail programs have a forwarding function built in. What you have essentially done is pack me off to ebay to find my own workarounds for a functional/development deficiency within vendio's webmail software program --one that following your initial instructions did not fix.

I would respectfully submit that a part of your reply should have been you or your software engineers at vendio offering to contact ebay for best instructions on workarounds for your vendio clients and then getting back to us with the best solution, instead of speculating what might work next or sending me off to ebay to do it for you.

I realize y'all at customer service are not computer engineers or ebay employees, but your software users are neither vendio engineers nor ebay employees nor vendio customer service agents. Vendio via its engineeers and customer service agents needs to start taking a little more responsibility for the ebay integration problems caused by the portions of its software that still remain incompletely developed.

Please get back to me after you or your engineers have forwarded the email to ebay, they have told you what the problem with your program function is, and the technical solution they recommend that will best get around it until vendio gets up to speed. I will move/file this ALERT email in my Suspected Fraudulent Emails CM category so it remains accessible for you to follow up on. Thanks.

Hi. It's been over 10 days on this--do I need to start another thread in another services area of vendio or will someone be getting back with me on this here? Surely vendio folks communicate with ebay to work out various things on a regular if not daily basis. Could not someone there ask them how best to configure the CM emails so they are not bounced? All my tries have been bounced back as not acceptible. Thanks.

The system we offer, unfortunately, doesn't offer a direct forward. I've passed this issue on for review with our design team.
Best Regards,
