I'm new to Yahoo.....I have a question! Maybe someone can help?
I just got a request to cancel a bidders bid...she has been the high bidder for 2 days.....Aren't bids binding??? Why would someone request this? THANKS for any and all help!

I believe they are binding once the auction is over, The person could retract his/her bid, but it would give them a negative for doing so, i'd just cancel it because most probably the person won't pay for it anyway. And it least they told you before it ended that they didn't want it anymore. Your auction though, do what you think is best.

Actually this is becoming epidemic. Sometimes it is a competing seller bidding up your item so it sits there while theirs sells.
Other times you have someone who is bid shielding. One individual bids your item up high then pulls the bid at the end of the auction so that #2 bidder gets the thing cheap. #2 bidder is the bud of the bidder who canceled, or even more likely the same person. When this happens to me I cancel the bid as they requested, and then cancel the auction and relist. Funny because #2 bidder who was poised to win never ever writes to ask why I canceled. They know they're caught. Elsa
